The Hunger Games. Some people lived their whole lives wanting to be a part of them. The rest of the people did everything they could to stay out of them.
Regardless, because of those games, and because of the Capitol, during that time period, all of Panem became inhuman. The citizens, from District Twelve to District One, lost their humanity and became part of a vicious crowd that thrived upon the bloodshed seen in the arena.
Well, that's what the Capitol thought at least.
People like Cobalt... they held a slightly different opinion. Those who had lost their friends, their family. Losing someone to the Games turned a person instantly sour upon them.
Or at the very least, some of them were affected that way. To the others, the Hunger Games were like a drug, an addiction that couldn't be broken. Cobalt hated them.
She entered the Research Center, navigating herself to the chemistry lab, where she could blow things up (hypothetically of course) to heart's content.
