Emmaline's dreams at night were not visual. To be able to see something in her dreams, she would have to had seen it in real life. There was no color, no light, just empty thoughts, just words that were scrambled inside of her mind.

If she was given one wish, she would wish to see for the first time in her life. If she could see, she could have color. She could have dreams.

These thoughts ran through Emmaline's mind, as she sat on the bench on the opposite side of the road, away from her house. Her cane lay flat on the ground next to her, but she didn't need it, not this close to her house. She knew the area well enough that she knew where she was going. She could tell where the curb was, so she wouldn't trip over it. She knew the exact number of stairs that she had to step down, to get to the sidewalk. The only reason she kept her cane with her was because of her mother's constant nagging and worrying, though Emmaline couldn't blame her.

Listening intently to the sound of footsteps around her, she stood up. She bent down and picked up her cane and took in a sharp breath. The winter air was cold and crisp, and she readjusted her scarf to keep warm.

All of a sudden, she bumped into someone who she hadn't heard coming. She was too distracted by fixing the scarf around her neck to hear the footsteps of the random stranger.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I really didn't mean to do that.."

[/b] She said, completely embarrassed. Her voice was apologetic and worried, because she was half-expecting whoever it was to scold her or start to yell. People actually did that often. If not, they completely pitied her. She didn't want anyone's anger or their pity.

If she were to have a second wish, she would want people to treat her normally. Sadly, her first wish seemed more likely.
