(OPEN)Meet my first character in the frizzing rain

The rain hit my head in freezing sheets. I rested the urge to shiver and quickly looked around me. No one was in the ally way with me.
I had slept in a small secluded part of the orchard and had missed the call for quiting. When I had woken up the rain had already started to come down in sheets. I had decided to head home rather then sleep in the rain with no covering.
I checked the ally again and brushed my wet hair from my eyes. I heard a sound behind me and quickly did a back flip while grabbing a small knife from my shoe.
Half way through the air I remembered that this was the same flip I always failed on. Last time I had tried I had hit my head on the floor. Hitting my head on the hard surface of the cobble stone ally would hurt a lot more then it did on wood. I closed my eyes and silently prayed my head wouldn't be bashed to pieces.
