Lunch with The Girl of My Dreams

I walk down the street, so happy I could almost talk to anyone normally. Well...I think, anyways. It's gorgeous today - sunlight illuminating the entire District, no sign of rain, and...well, there's Archer, of course. Understandably, I'm a little nervous about going to lunch with him. It was like the first time I went with Trip - I was so sure he had changed his mind, but it ended up he hadn't. And then I met Archer.

At this point, I blush. Why did I choose Archer over Trip, anyways? I mean, it wasn't like Trip and I were officially "together" or anything. Still, though, I feel like I'm betraying him, although I keep telling myself I'm not. I'm really not. I just feel bad that I disappointed him, that's all. The first real friend I had, too...shaking my head, I tell myself to let it go. Trip seemed okay with it, after all. I just hope this doesn't turn me into one of those girls who is always all over every guy she meets. That's not me. Is it?

Sighing, I shake my head and then stop around the corner from the restaurant, checking myself in the mirror. Of course I don't think I look beautiful, but maybe, with a little imagination, I could be pretty. I adjust the light blue sundress I'm wearing and adjust my hair before rounding the corner and seeing him. Shyly, I walk to him, and then say quietly, "Ummmm...hi." I am so unoriginal. Ugh.
