Is thinking about the metaphor of life, behind falling on your butt a sign of laziness?

That might have been the first thought to go through the head of a more skilled, smart, strong person like Arcadia London, but Illiana was not her. She was Illiana Annwn, gentle, scared, kind, book-smart, healing Illiana Annwn. Pretty little Lana. Her fluffy blonde hair, usually so brilliantly pale, but now an oily, darker color after a few days of not washing, had fallen into her face. Lana had to peer up at the stranger through a curtain of hair that looked suspiciously like that of the girl in, the Grudge, except white instead of black. Her blue-green eyes that everybody thought were just blue if they weren't standing right in front of her, searched the persons face.

Lana didn't know much about people, but he seemed nice. In his early twenties, but with that Old-Soul look in his eyes. Still he scared the living daylights out of the young woman. The tone of voice was similar to her mothers scolding voice, but had the edge of amusement her fathers had after watching Lana climb a thirty foot tree in about a minute. Excitement edged all of her thoughts. The man could be an Upriser.

Anything having to do with the meaning of life and falling flat on her butt, disappeared. What was left was a wary child staring up in wonder at a particularly cool gadget or new toy. She swept her hair out of her face, revealing a gaunt, sharp-angled face with striking similarities to that of the Career Tribute, Cady London. Illiana was still pretty much paralyzed as so many colorful emotions ran through her mind. She had all but forgotten that his hand was her rescue from the dirty forest floor. Stunned. Had Lana Annwn ever been stunned before? It was a funny feeling to have no control over what you were, but be able to watch as your mind sorted through what was happening. Computers probably feel that way…

Finally, finally she came back to her senses. Illiana went over her cover-story. My name is Lana Ann, Im from District Eight, and Im nineteen. I heard of the Uprising from a group of loud-mouthed people talking about you guys in the woods. Im a skilled Healer, and pretty good with sewing—I want in. Technically she wasn’t most of those things, but it seemed like the Uprising would have no use for a shy, eighteen year old girl tracking down her real family-roots. Nobody would have time for a girl like that.

So She just stared at him. Stared, and stared, and stared to her hearts content.

ooc- Id like to remind you Illiana does have extreme resemblances to her twin ^^

The first thought that popped into her head was edged with confusion and hurt. Did she really look that bad. Her lower lip trembled as the strange man backed up. Illiana was imagining her gaunt, strange face, her raccoon-eyes, and chapped lips. Vanity had always been Ililiana's true love, and she shuddered delicately to think her image had been so horrible the polite-but-actually-not guy had freaking backed up. A few tears spilled down her face.

She scooted backward like a frightened little animal as he walked back toward her. The expression on her face was one of utter shock as she watched him smooth his features into a perfect little smile. Illiana was an empathetic girl, sensitive to the thoughts of the few people she surrounded herself with. Once, her sister Melissa, had accused her of being a witch, except Melissa had accidentally said witch with a B-sound in front, instead of a W-sound. She had cried for days, until finally her mother made Melissa apologize for calling her a witch (If you haven't figured it out, Lana doesn't know what witch with a b actually is ^^.)

Anyways, Lana had never met a Career before, but she had watched them with fascination for many years. Ever since she was a baby, Lana Annwn could remember staring at the television screen as people from District One, Two, and Four went onto the stage and lied easily to the Capitols people. She watched the man closely, noticing how very Career-Like he was. Illiana was no expert on people, but years of eternal boredom and forced watching of the horrid Games had made it so she could quickly identify who was a Career and who wasn't.

The words he whispered clicked in her head. Illiana was as dumb and ignorant as any other teenage girl, but after a week of obsessing over Arcadia London, she couldn't help but grow excited. He knows her... It was with confidence that Lana thought this. "Its okay," she spoke carefully, feeling so many strange emotions bubble up to the surface. "I mean, I look a lot like her." She smiled, adding her signature touch, turning an awkward statement into a smiley-fun statement.

Cady-- sorry I almost went into Cady-Mode...Ar--dang I did it again!Illiana pushed herself off the ground, standing a few feet away from the had-to-be-a-Career-from-District-Two. Her big blue-green eyes closed for a moment, and suddenly panic was coursing through her. What business did a former-Career have near the rebel base? She looked at him, fear in her eyes, all thoughts forgotten. Illiana found herself staring once more, but it wasn't at the guy, it was past him into the future. A future where Illiana was an Avox, because honestly there was still one huge question she was dying to find out the answer to:

Did he work for the Capitol, and by extention what would he do with her?

She was like a butterfly. Illiana had watched them often enough, and she knew the delicate flying creatures to be short of attention, and blissfully ignorant to all the evil in the world. Of course, when she watched them Lana did not see the similarities, because she thought she was not ignorant. She thought knowing that the Capitol was evil, and that her sister was easy, made her tough and street-smart. Finally, looking at the calm expression on Griffins face, she realized she was so wrong.

She was a doe caught in the head-lights of a car. So frightened, so curious to know why she could not help but stare at the pretty white light. Illiana could see it now, the way her new acquaintance held himself was the same way Carter used to when Little-Lana came running to him, in need of a hug and assuring words that she was his favorite little sister. It was the same face parents wore when trying to calm down a rampaging infant. Hush, hush now little Lana.

Like a graceful swan Illiana glided toward Griffin without even tripping. She could not help but come closer because he certainly had all the answers to all her questions. She blinked, before remembering how scared she had been that this man worked for the Capitol. But hes just like me. There was the curiosity in his eyes, almost completely hidden behind a fragile Career-made mask, the determination all strong-people had, and the pain that came along with having an eternal purpose in life. Responsibility. Old-Soul eyes. How could Illiana lie to somebody that obviously was trying to sooth her, not hurt her?

She did not lie when she spoke. "I'm Illiana Annwn. You can call me Lana, Liana, Annwn, it doesn't matter..." she hesitated, "But I don't think you care that much, do you? You want to know who I am, not what my name is. Thats okay with me" For a moment as she shifted her gaze from him to the ground, there was a glint of that Old-Soul quality that Griffin possessed. She tuned back up, but settled her gaze on the mockingjay sitting in a far-up branch on the tree Griffin had been in. She smiled faintly at it, guessing that this was somehow a sign she was supposed to be here, talking to the stranger.

Daddy always told me not to talk to strangers, but
Daddy lied a lot.
He told me I was his but,
I'm not.
So I'm just going to stand here and wait,
Then Ill tell Griffin all about me.
