I check my watch. Dad's late again. Surprise, surprise. I don't blame him. He must be kept back with a patient or something. I shrug, deciding to come back in a half hour or so, and leave the hospital foyer. There's a pungent stench of disinfectant anyway. It's actually quite late, and I feel tired. I rub my eye, and think about heading home. Instead, I just lean on the white hospital wall, wondering what to do next.

Sunny turned at the corner and headed direction hospital. She had sprained her wrist when she fell on the floor in her house because she ran too fast. Normally she'd just go to her father but her father was not at home. Nor was her mum. She held her wrist. it hurted a lot. she was not sure if it was only sprained, at least she hoped so. She didn't want to have a broken wrist. not now.
Sunny looked up and spotted a young man leaning against the hospital wall. "Hello.",she greeted him and stopped to talk to him a bit. He seemed somewhat bored so she wanted to make waiting a bit less boring for him. Well, she thought he waited for something. No one just hung around the hospital beacue he thought it's cool. "What are you doing out here that late?",she asked friendly.

My eyebrows raise as this random girl greets me. She seems nice, so I decide to speak to her.

"Hi," I say to her, smiling. Like I said, she seems nice, though she looks to be in pain. I'm about to ask her about it, when she cuts across me, asking what I'm doing out. "Well, I WAS waiting for my dad to finish his shift, but, I guess he's been held up," I sigh. At least the sky's clear, and the stars shine brightly. The half-moon is nice too.

"Did something happen to you? You look hurt."

"I THINK i have sprained my wrist. well I hope I just sprained it. I don't want it to be broken.", Sunny said smiling. Her wrist hurted but she didn't care at the moment. She wanted to talk to this boy. He seemed very nice. "It doesn't seem busy from the outside. So how can your dad be held up?",sunny asked. The hospital really didn't look busy, but she didn't know what was inside. She had only been here once and that was in primary school. when she'd broke her leg, because a boy pushed her hard and she fell on a stone.

"Let me have a look..." I say, taking her arm to examine it. "I'm good at first aid," I explain. Being the son of a doctor has its advantages.

"If you can move your hand freely, the wrist isn't broken, so, it's probably just a sprain."

She asks me why my dad would be held up. "You got me. Maybe a patient's taken a turn for the worse, or he's needed in surgery, maybe. I'm used to not having him around though." I twiddle with my hair as I think about this.

"I'm Joshua, by the way. Joshua Colquhoun."

Sunny was happy that her wrist wasn't broken. She could move her fingers. "my name is Sunny. Sunny brandon.",she said and smiled. "How are you? except for bored? I guess." She chuckled. It was fun to talk with this guy. He was very nice.

"So your dad does surgreys? Mine does the medicin. It's very boring to make the medicin. belive me.", she said.

As I again twiddle with my midnight-black hair, Sunny introduces herself. Quite the smiler. I smile back at her. Her smile is infectious. "I'm okay, I suppose. You? Dad doesn't specialise, he can do both. I'm very interested in medicine though. It's what I want to do in the future," I say dreamily, staring at the sky.

"I'm fine. Well... except for my hand.", Sunna says and chuckles. "I want to be an archaeologist", Sunny said and knew at once that he'd ask why. wanting to be an archaeologist was rare for sure. "A few weeks back I met a woman who was archaeologist and I came with her one day. It was very interesting." Sunny thought back of that day. She'd never forget it. Since Selena gave her that bracelet it was sure that she wanted to make the same things in her future. Remembering her bracelet she started to play with it, not really consious of her actions.

As she plays with a bracelet, I wonder what exactly happened on that day with the archaeologist. Still, I doubt I should ask. Fossils bore me, though I don't voice this. I now realise how hungry I am. I shrug, and ask "You wanna get something to eat? I'm starving."

"Sure. I'm hungry.",she just realized she moved her hand somehow and pain shot through her whole arm. "Uhmm... maybe I'll see the doctor first.",Sunny says in pain. She walked in the hospital not caring to look after Joshua. her hand was too painful at the moment. She could scream. she had just moved it. what could have happened now? could it be worse becaus she moved it?

I sit there. holding my wrist. why the fucking hell did it hurt so much? I didn't do anything but move it. I smile when I see joshua enter the room. my name was called and I walk to the door. I look at Joshua questioningly. would he come or not?

"It's nothing too bad? is it, doc?", I ask the doctor after he had looked at my wrist, moved it, x-rayed it.

Sunny looks at me nervously, and I interpret this as a wish for me to come in. I comply, and her doctor begins to examine her. She seems worried, and I place a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I'm sure it's fine," I say, smiling slightly, to try and reassure her.

Sunny heared Joshua behind her, telling her that it was all right. The doctor said:"Well, miss Brandon. you spained your wrist, that's for sure and on top of it you managed to overstretch the muscle in your forearm."'Oh absolutely perfect', Sunny thought sarcastically. She got a bandage. Sunny looked at the bandage. it covered almost all her hand and forearm. She walked to the door and waited for Joshua.
