Bentley Keader (District 9)

Bentley is a little thing, only coming in at five feet and six inches. So really he is pretty darn short. He's pretty skinny, under weighing all the boys his age. He is not very tan, but he is not pale either. He has shaggy blonde/brown hair and brown eyes. He has a lot of freckles, so his mom told him when he was young he was kissed by the sun. So now his nickname is Sunshineful.

Bentley has only one ear, so he is partially deaf. He can't hear much, so he relies on his eyes and hands. His hands are rough, and his feet are the same way. He has a big scar on the side of his head where his ear would be. He bites his nails constantly, as result of his anxiety, or just plain craziness. Bentley has a lazy eye, so his eyes aren't always together.

Bentley is very, um, nosy. He likes to do everything and anything to make people uncomfortable. He also insists on asking very, awkward questions. He does have a lot of positive things to him too. He wants to be the in guy, the one everyone wants to be with and loves. He acts like he can make you, or he can break you, when in reality, he has no more power than a first grader when it comes to social statistics.

Good traits from him are few, but the ones he has shine through the bad. He is caring on the inside, but of course because of socialization he can't show it. He wants to care, he wants to help, but he can't bear himself to do it. He feels an unreasonable amount of peer pressure, but he can feed it right back to others. He likes being a bad boy, and feeds off of the awkwardness and nervousness. His parents get concerned, but they can't really do anything about it.

His personality can be very wishy-washy. He can go from one to the other, to another, and another. From happy to sad to wanting to kill the world. When he's happy, he's one of the best people in the world to talk too, but when he gets mad, well. One thing that bothers him is that he is small, and well people take advantage of that.

Bentley has had an okay life. I mean nothing was extraordinary, but nothing was horribly wrong, on the outside. He was picked on, bullied for being so small. He couldn't hear their insults always, but I guess that is a good thing. He tried to walk away, it just didn't work.

His parents take good care of him, they love him, and do what's best in their opinion, but sometimes it's not enough. He is a only child, but his dad has another kid from his first wife. They don't really get along, I mean to their parents they "sibling fight" but it's much more than that. They constantly beat up on each other. Its not surprising to find them yelling, or kicking, or punching. His half-brother is a lot older and therefore, has an advantage.

Other than that Bentley has a lot of friends, whether they are real or fake. He wants to have real friends, but he is too scared to be himself. He walks and runs away from his fears, he refuses to face them. Maybe he will now, but probably not. He's had a pattern of doing things his way, and nobody else's.
