They burst with color with different variations of greens and browns as it forms a painting of a most beautiful landscape. The hills surrounding the district are bursting with flowers buds on the lush green landscape. The lavenders are complimented by the pink roses that dot the hills through the place. And the pure white daisies look great next to the brightness of the yellow daisies. The colors made spring even more alive and forth coming. Except they sky which is much of an overcast, gray clouds creating a gloomy feeling on the day. Xavier sat in front of his house, which happens to be the community home, admiring the beauty surrounding his home. The citizens are even out and working again. It's where Xavier should be as well, and he would get in so much trouble if the Peacekeepers found him not in the fields. But today is a day in which he doesn't care. A day like today a beautiful ground counterpart next to the dull sky that brings everything back to him. A day like today that brings back the memories of his troubled past to him. The memories of his drunkard father. The memories of being groped and touched by the man who helped give him life. The memory of fear residing in his everyday thoughts and dreams. When he would hang out with his other friends, Xavier would notice that their fathers smell of the wheat fields growing in the fields and the orchards past the farms. And they were always happy and bright. But when Xavier was at his home his father smelled of alcohol and was under the haze of being drunk. The other fathers always laughed and kissed their children and wives on both cheeks. His own father never laughed and never kissed his cheeks. His father looked at Xavier like her was just a toy to be used. And that's all Xavier was, used. What his father did to him is unfathomable. To be as horny as to take advantage of a 7 year old kid. How does a man do that to a child? How does a man willing rape a child? He felt so vandalized and scarred that he didn't know what to do. A bright exuberant child was turned into one of full of fear and dismay. He became afraid to come home, afraid to look anybody in the eye. And it happened again, and again, all with the bitter sweet scent of alcohol flowing from his father moans and groans. And with no mother to stop this from happening. His mother died during his birth, a fact that his drunkard father never managed to forget. A fact that Xavier's father made sure he felt responsible for. A fact that was always brought up while being pinned. His father always told him that ”You killed your mother being born you deserve this. Now take this like a man and stop crying and yelling.” As it went on longer and longer Xavier became more weary of every man he saw for all he could see was his father. All he could see was being pinned under that man. He became so afraid that he avoided every man and boy in his sight. He was the twelve year old boy who avoided all other boys and men. He became the self ostracized child from the male society in Eleven. And he enjoyed it that way. He never had to deal with any guys at all and could enjoy the comfort of a woman's compassion. That is except at home. At home still lived his living nightmare, the man who gained a six-pack bluge in his gut from the years of the beers and the booze. And the nightmare happened again and again. Fast forward about another 2 years to age fourteen, an age most important to Xavier. It's the age where Xavier worked up the courage to run away. It was a normal day for Xavier, working in the fields avoid any sort of contact with any male at all. Whether it be eye contact or physical or verbal contact. Even though it was a great summer day; the night was stormy and thunderous. The clouds black and rolling, almost like today. Only the day was a quite dirty hue of white and not as angry as that fateful night. The lighting blazed the night alive as he thunder roared the night Xavier became freed from his monstrous tragedy. He had already planed on leaving but he wanted to leave the whole district and become a wanderer. But you can't really become a Wanderer when a drunkard father is chasing after you. Can you? |
The night that he ran Xavier hit his father in the head but apparently not hard enough as his father chased him in the stormy night, pissed off and wanting vengeance. When he got to town square he tripped and fell, scraping his hands and knees on the dirt and cobblestone. He still has the scars to show. When he fell his father fell on top of him, disoriented at first, but soon realized that he had the upper hand. His father tried to take advantage of the situation and tried to take Xavier right there in the middle of the square. That's when the shop mistress of the candy store looked outside of her window and saw what was happening. She stormed outside with a cast iron pan and struck Xavier's father in the head, knocking him out this time. After the Peacekeepers arrested him Xavier was sent to the Community Home. Though he still talks to the shop mistress every Friday, for she was his saving grace.
And that's how he got to be sitting on the porch of the Community Home two years late; at the ripe age of sixteen ears old. Hey at least I get to be in the girls section.[/color] He thinks as he stares of into the expanse that is his home. Lost in his train of thought of the girls at the home shakes him out of his trance. ”Hey dork head time to get to work.” ”Alright Dweep I'm coming, don't get your panties in a bunch.”The joy and brightness hasn't fully been restored to his voice just yet but it's coming back. And his voice has dropped to a silky deep chocolatey bass. He looks back on the porch as if it holds all of his memories and past life. And he turns and follows his friend into his new future. Who knows where it ma lead, but he's happy to leave his past behind and at least try to learn a little something from it.
