Giving up is easy[miniclover]

Ashes fell onto the ground inside the cell as she was shoved in. The barred door behind her was slammed shut and she heard the lock click, locking her inside this madness. She tried to stand but her head pounded, mostly from the brutal treatment she'd recieved in the last twenty-four hours. She stumbled to her feet and cried out as she hit her head on something, she felt the back of her head and sighed in relief as she found no blood coming from the wound. She was tired, sore, starving, and confused. Why had the peace keepers come after her? She knew why. It was because she'd gone into the woods. Curiosity had gotten the better of her and she'd gone under the fence. she looked around the prison cell and found everything to be in stark shape. The beds were made of metal as were the shelves and the pot in the corner she assumed was for doing her business in. She immediately hated it. She hated being trapped like an animal. She shouldn't be here! She should be back at home in district six with her parents and family around her. At least she wouldn't be going into the games. But, there were worse fates than death.

She plopped down on one of the beds and found it to be uncomfortable, hard. She groaned, feeling tears prick behind her eyes before she remembered that she wasn't alone. She sat up, looking at the girl across from her. She didn't know her but she felt she might as well make friends with her cell mate, lest she ever need an ally in this place. She smiled as well as she could and extended her hand. "Hello." She said, hoping this girl would at least be somewhat better company than the peace keepers who had brought her here.
