| [bg=aa1111] Misery was a word that was a little overused in Anthony's vocabulary. He lived in misery, he was miserable, he was a miser. Maybe the people who judged hin were right. He was a bit sad, a bit lost in such a large world. There was too much to explore, too much to learn, two little time. Pressing his cheek against the back of his favorite armchair, he stared outside. Heat caused the air outside to ripple, and there was not a cloud in the sky. The sun beamed over District Two, sharing its happiness with the world. Maybe Anthony wanted the happiness. Yes, I want it. Thrusting his hands into the pockets of his worn jeans, he strolled outside. Warmth caressed his cheeks and arms. He rubbed his chin where thin hairs had accumulated, the start of a beard. He watched children chase each other around with sticks and toss stones through the air. Anthony couldn't help but feel melancholy. He missed those days. If only they knew what awaited them. Darkness. That's all. Anthony kicked at the ground, not caring if the soles of his shoes scuffed. He glared up at the sky, huffing. Why am I still waiting for some hero to rescue me? Stupid superman's not going to come.
