Rayne Condrey ♦ District 5 [finished]

Standing five five and weighting one hundred pounds, Rayne can be a sight for sore eyes but doesn't believe it. She doesn't bother to try, it's just natural. Why does she think that, you ask? Because scars run up and down her body but she is very good at concealing them. Brown hair cascades almost half way down her back in the form of soft waves. Dark brown, not arched eyebrows hang above her hazel eyes. She has long and almost fluffy eyelashes that curls up. Planted in the middle of her face a small nose that curves up a little at the end.

They tell me I'm beautiful, but I'm not. I'm not the girl they see. I have scars that I show to no one. I get those scars from trying to stay alive. I get dirty, I am not clean. I can't keep clean and care about my looks. Some ask me if I try to look good. Who do they think I am? There is no room for people who constantly care about their looks. They will soon die. No, they are already dead. They are plastic, barely even human. They are plastic, dead bodies walking around aimlessly. I am not one of those people.

Firm muscles move in unison, creating fast and fluid movements. Her timing is right and on key. It's hard to believe that she used to stumble and run into things regularly, except for the bruises and dents she likes to hide. Medium light skin cover her skin, bones and muscles. Barely any meat on her whatsoever.

Many people fight monsters in her life. For Rayne, they can be anywhere. But the worst monster is one that she fights constantly. And that is her. Her own voice is stuck in her head and always tells her what to do. The voice tells her to do things that aren't usually right. Or the voice brings back memories, always bad memories. She is constantly at war with herself, always trying to fight to bad. Sometimes she gives in and it just gets worse. The voice inside her wants more and it becomes harder to resist. It worsens every time she gives in, and eventually becomes apart of her. She then becomes insane and tries to hurt herself.

I am crazy, insane even. Voices in my head tell me what to do and make me think things I would never wish to think. The voices would even control me if I let them. But I am stronger than this, I know I am. It's only happened to me once, I almost destroyed myself. I'm not the pretty, normal girl that everyone thinks I am.

It never used to be this way, I never used to be this way. I used to be the pretty, normal girl that everyone thinks I am. If I could only kill this...this monster inside me than I could overcome my fears and be who I really want to be.

She puts on a show to hide who she really is. She tells no one, not a soul. A great liar, she is. The girl rarely ever slips up in public and says and does things that are not by her own will. One way she does to calm the voice(s) in her head is to train. She borrows her brother's weapons and practices. Exercise helps as well. She watches the victors in the Hunger Games and watches their every move. She takes different techniques that worked and practice them. She adds little twists to make them her own and unpredictable. Rayne does this to survive and to shut out the voice(s).

No, I'm not a career. I am not one of them, no matter what you think. I don't do this for The Hunger games. I do this to survive, it's necessary for me. When I move and concentrate, the voice disappears and I become my own person again. Careers, all they do is train, train and train. Their life's are made up of training, maybe going in The Hunger Games and then dying. Most Careers don't become Victors. Yes, I do train and I do use some of the things that Victor Careers use, but I am not a career myself. I am not a stereotype, I am a human. Or monster, whatever suits your fancy.

It all started on May 9 when Rayne Sibel was born to Jonathan Bray Condrey and Susanna Evol Condrey as the youngest child. She had two older brothers, Axel and Bray. Axel was six and Bray was three when Rayne was born. Growing up as the youngest, Rayne always got her way. Axel and Bray tended to get jealous since it was never fair for them. The first few years of Rayne's life was filled with tons of attention. She was always babied and was childish.

As Rayne grew, her parents had to pay less attention to her because of their jobs and it wasn't as much as a problem now that she and her older brothers were older. So then Rayne took notice of her brothers and grew closer to them. They showed her a few training and fighting tips and tricks, not that she cared much about it at the time. She outgrew her childishness and matured a bit while becoming more like her brothers.

Only three quarters of a year ago, Axel and Rayne's father went to the market after work to get food. Their dad got in a fight with someone and Axel tried to break it up. Now the father was not usually aggressive or anything of the sort, axel would be more likely to do so. It's been said that Mr. Condrey and the man who he fought with had quite a history, but nothing else was said. The man's friends came to his aid and killed Mr. Condrey and Axel. It affected the Condrey family greatly, and not just their income. Rayne had grown close to Axel and her father, Her father had become her role-model. A few nights before that Rayne started getting horrible nightmares. After Axel and Mr. Condrey died, the voice came. The only way to block out the voice was to train, so that it what Rayne did. She has been doing it daily ever since.

The best you could hope to be is now just a bittersweet memory
And you make breaking hearts look so easy.
