Once, upon a waterfall sat I, legs dangling from the ledge and tempting fate. Said I: what use is there in mountains when you cannot fall - and I yearned to hit the ground. It is flying for which I ache, those moments, dancing in air between the sky and death, and the characters in fairytales can tempt fate without the threat.

The bridal train sits like a crown atop my vacant head - it frames the empty tears that carry darkness to my chest. Alas the broken dreams begin to pool at my feet; a nightmare-like reality that's naught but bittersweet. In the time it takes to breathe one shallow, haunted breath, my waterfall collapses. (Gone, gone, gone.) No pirates sail these seven seas - none walk the bathroom floor. The taps blast kisses, overflowing, spilling from the door.

Fine silks no longer complete me. My mind is wrapped in towels. For a second, the words that linger in my throat at not of flowers, laced with daisy-chains. Fear bites and tugs at taught constraints; no longer do I hold the key. The streets are bare, and yet so I am - I stand on the road with bleeding feet and a broken heart. "It is me you must save," comes a shout I do not approve of. (I am the Queen and what ruler needs saving?) All alone, I wait with sorrow in my bones, and a house filled a substance I will never be able to breathe.
