Cecil Grant.

Cecil Jay Grant was beyond tired of the ruckus that was his house. His mother was home, which was never a good thing, and she had brought some gross man from a bar home with her. The other kids had took off as soon as she stepped foot on the porch, but Cecil thought he could hide away in his makeshift library- bad idea. The walls are very thin and noise carries. Grabbing a book he took to the snow flurries and chill wind. Winding a scarf around his face, Cecil took to a foot path near his house and buried his nose into the book. It was something about a whale, only the boy didn't quite know what a whale was. One day he'd have to catch a D4 victor on the Victory Tour and ask how such a beast could possibly exist. Maybe they didn't... after all this book was fiction. This Ahab fellow seems to know what he wants and how to get it and Cecil hoped the Captain would catch the phantom fish. However the boy tripped over something in his path and looked around only to find himself in an area he didn't recognize. All he could see was trees and the path he had been following, well there wasn't much of it anymore. In fact you could say the boy was lost but Cecil would never admit that. He was simply turned around.

A glance at the sun told him it would soon be dark and the kid had the slightest clue as to where he was.

"Well. This may prove to be problematic."

Scarlet ribbons slithered into the stream as Lucius dipped his hands into its cleansing waters. The liquid was no longer pure having been tainted by The Punisher, but he was okay with that. This was his stream, after all, just like this section of the forest was his domain. Nobody dared tread on his grounds; they all heard the rumors. Peacekeepers never believed them, and the rare moments that they did they always searched the wrong places at the wrong times. The Punisher would not be harmed by their unholy hands, oh no. This was his palace forever. Step foot inside, and he would be sure to "tidy up" with one of his trusty knives.

Lucius gathered the bones and the carving tools and stored them in their rightful hiding places. He would finish this piece of work later. Except, as soon as he turned to leave his post he heard the leaves rustle and the soft voice of a boy. A lost boy, he was. Must've been, because who would wander out here so close to sunset? Afternoons were for labor out in the forests, but evenings belonged to the shadows and the fog. Only a brave fool would wander into these woods willingly, and for what purpose? Perhaps to seek guidance? No, that was never it. They were only curious or stupid, and this one must've taken a wrong turn.

"Lost, are we?"

Cecil Grant.

A voice seemed to bleed out of the trees itself, hissing at Cecil. Soon the boy's spectacles spotted the owner of the voice. An older boy who lacked a welcoming manner. Despite what common sense might tell a normal person, Cecil took offense to what this creepy man in the woods said. I'm not lost, I just miss placed the path I was on." The boy held his book to his chest and rocked back and forth on his heels, taking in the log cabin behind the very ominous looking person in front of him. Always the smart ass, even in the worst of situations, Cecil couldn't help but point out the residence.

"Do you have a permit for that structure?" he asked, pointing to said house. "Because in section three of Housing and Home Laws it says that any building, professionally built or not, placed outside of the labeled, patrolled streets of the district need a license and to be monitored twice a week by a Keeper to make sure no illegal activities occur there."

And Cecil wonders why nobody likes him.

He lost his path. Was the idea not identical? Either way, he had ended up tracking his filth on holy grounds with only The Punisher here to solve the problem. Lucius tilted his head and scanned the boy from head to toe through matted black curls dark as shadows. As he observed, the boy began to spew nonsense. Lucius was an excellent listener; he heard every word, even as he plotted the hundreds of ways he could punish this wandering fool. A knowledgeable fool, it seemed, following the laws of idiots. "Peacekeepers don't come here," he said, voice as thick as tar. "They never will." Permit or not, nobody ever bothered to search Vanderwell property, and there was a reason for that. He happened to be one of those reasons.

Well. That sounded quite ominous. Not very welcoming either. Cecil's eyes bounced around the lens of his glasses, to scared to settle his eyes on the figure before him. It as a few moments before the child realize he had been holding his breath. Letting it out in a large huff, the young grant child took a hesitant step back. "Well, uh, you look like you have a nice little situation going on and I wouldn't dare intrude on someone's house at dinner time." A quick glance at the trees around him and Cecil hugged his book even tighter to his chest. "If you'd be so kind as to point me in the direction of town and I'll be on my way." And not tell anyone about the illegal, creepy house in the woods. The young boy gave a forced smile and touched a hand to the bridge of his glasses to keep them from falling down. If only he had a harpoon like Captain Ahab then maybe he could spear this Moby Dick in the face... then again Ahab wanted to catch the whale, so maybe this whole situation was turned around. Damn it. If only Cecil finished the book before he stumbled into the creepy guy who lives in the woods.
