The outter edges of the forest where the grass grows tall in the summers near the fences at the far edges of the district. Where no district resident is suppose to be happens to be where I find myself today. I have walked for as far as I can with the aid of the handheld crutches, my muscles screaming for me to halt. I'm in no more pain than usual from where my leg used to be. Phantom pain. I've heard that word so many times that by now, I've learned to ignore ever single person who says it. I also ignore that pain that isn't really there. So, natually, I find myself where nature intends me to be. It has always called to me and has always been there for me to come to for comfort. I long to be seperated from my life here in seven. To go beyond the vast majority of this district. I crave adventure, but what can a cripple do about that?

The crutch I hold in my right hand suddenly goes flying and lands with a thudding echo into a tree as I stare at the spot it haphazardly landed in the short brown grasses of winter's forboding breath. I sigh heavily.

Winter in the woods is the harshest time of year. It's nearly impossible to keep warm. It's nearly impossible to find anything to eat. It's nearly impossible to stay alive, but I've adapted. I've figure out the easiest way to survive. The first winter alone was horrible. I thought I was going to die, but I somehow managed to stay alive. I would sneak into districts as it was easier to find food being in the districts. I found a warm winter coat in district 8. I learnt how to build fires. I went to district 12. My eyes were amazed at how poor it was, yet the citizens managed to survive. Today isn't any different. The dry winter grass crunches under my feet with each step I take. My eyes settle on a fence in front of me. A large fence designed to surround the districts. I have no idea where I am. I have no idea what district I've wandered to, but I see a lot of trees. A loud thud causes me to duck for cover. I don't want anyone to see me. I'm not supposed to be here. I'm not even supposed to be alive. I'm dead to my family. I'm dead to the world. I sneak around trying to keep myself from being noticed when I spot someone. "Uh, are you okay?" I keep my voice quiet hoping this wasn't a mistake.

There in the distance, somewhere near where I threw my crutch, I hear a voice. It jarrs me suddenly to hear the male like voice and I instantly begin to wonder if Marcus had been out here hiding. That's the last thing I need... another run in with Marcus. It's his fault I'm like this.

Though, after a few moments, I give in to the concerned voice and look around with my eyes. Though, I see nothing at all. "Pissed off..." I state. I'm not one to give in to false words. I'm going to be blunt. If they want to stick around, then let them, whoever it was. "Not at you, whoever you are." I add in to let him know that my words won't be taken out on him. I begin my travel over to the area where I threw my crutch, hopping on one foot for the moment and using the trees as leverage. I know I look silly, but what choice do I have.

A male voice fills the air. It's obvious he was angry at something, but I have no idea what he was angry at. When he says it's not me, I can breathe a sigh of relief. I slowly meander my way around the tree stepping into the open. I run a hand through my hair still hoping it's not a peacekeeper, or a peacekeeper isn't anywhere near by. I keep my gaze towards the ground not sure if I want to look the guy in the face or not. I see a young male hopping towards the tree. I stop in my tracks. I want to offer him help, but I don't think he would want my help after all I am a stranger. "It's okay to be mad." I mutter silently. I need to be careful about what I say. I don't want this kid telling peacekeepers I'm here. I take another slow deep breath. "Sorry." My eyes scan the area quickly just to make sure that nobody else is near by.
