When Lloyd woke up he woke up with a mission. Got to fix some problems. When he woke up pretty early (for once in his life) he dragged himself out of bed, still in his night clothes he dragged himself down the stairs and into the kitchen, looking around the place. "Ahh, here's the liquor cabinet." He says and opens the cabinet that should be looked but is never, ever locked for some reason. He sees bottles of alcohol , he opens a bottle, sticks his finger in it and dabs it on his tongue. He instantly recoils in disgust (how could anyone ever drink this poison?) He sighs and pours the entire contents off the bottle down the drain.

Gin. Gone.

Whiskey. Gone.

Whine. Gone.

All of it needs to disappear

Sleep had come to me so easily after last night's fiasco. I can't even remember half of what had happened. Though I know I'd confessed a lot. Let's just hope it wasn't too much. When I sit up, I am disoriented. A hangover pounds at my skull. My vision is blurred, like that after a deep sleep. I let out a loud yawn, stretching me arms out to either side of me. Was I on the couch? I blinked a few times, trying to get the blurry world into focus. I heard rattling from a familiar spot. The liquor cabinet. Was it being raided by my younger siblings? Father? I jump up, ignoring the dizziness overwhelming me. And there stoop Lloyd, dumping it all. I could see my lifeline slowly draining with a sucking sound. No. I run up, grabbing his hand "Stop! What are you doing!"

My work is interrupted by a desperate plea to stop and someone grabbing my hand. "Stop! What are you doing!" I stop for a minute, just before I can pour out the last bottle of 'Gin' we own when I see her worried expression as she stops my hand. A wave of annoyance crashes around inside me as I look at her pale hand which stops me from pouring away the last of the Gin, the last thing I want to do it start a fight.

I must be honest, Velvet looks like shit, clearly hungover and dizzy, as if she's not even focusing properly. I sigh and let go of the bottle. Crash! The class shatters instantly, glass shards flying across the sink and the disgusting death drink pours away into the drain. And that's the last of the Gin gone, but there's still so many different types of alcohol in the cabinet (how did we even afford all of this alcohol?) I don't even know what to do with them, I'll pour them all down the drain because we don't need them, why waste our money on poison when we clearly need it for more important stuff.

I wonder vaguely what my face looks like. Perhaps shocked, even horrified. Most likely just defeated. My eyes find the shattered glass on the floor. A bitter representation of the world that cracked and collapsed around me. The clear liquid seeps into the cracks on the wooden flooring. I try to take a breath, but I feel as through my lungs have somehow collapsed within my chest. My head begins to throb. It seemed to be pounding against my skull like a fist. A hand clutches the sofa, trying to steady my shaking frame. I couldn't believe what he'd done. The rooms begin to spin around me. I'm unable to focus on anything anymore. Not Lloyd, or the booze, even the floor shaking underneath me.

Black begins to creep into the corners of my vision. My eyes just wouldn't stay open. I don't fight, I couldn't of if I tried. Welcoming an escape from the horror of the reality in front of me I collapse into the black once again.

When I open my eyes she's standing over me. The girl who ruined it all. Who ruined my life .
"You're a mess Velv." She attempts to grab my hand.
"Get away from me!" I scramble backwards. "You aren't real. You aren't fucking real." Deep down in my subconscious it occurred to me that I was laying on the floor of the Bison Hut. But the fear of what faced me in there stopped me from attempting to wake myself from this nightmare. Lost in my own thoughts, I don't realize that she has gone. Faded into nothingness like she had in the conscious world.

In front of me stands a mirror. It's covered in a layer of dark grime. I could barely make out what faced me in the mirror. Myself. Though it looks nothing like me. The me I know at least. Her curly hair is dark and stringy. It seems as through she doesn't care what she looks like, ragged clothes, hair askew. The complete opposite of the meticulous way I prepare myself in the morning. I have pride in my vanity but... this girl was the complete opposite. Small pock marks line her arms, a half drank bottle clutched in a pale hand. Her face is gaunt, dead.

Addiction. I realized. This is what stared me in the face. What I was going to become. Scarred with needles and nothing more than a shadow of what was. Inches from death as life wasn't worth living. But scared all the same to give into the inevitable death that stood in front of me in the mirror. An overdose, probably.

I want to stop. I have to.

But at the same time, even looking into my own eyes I know that I can't. I place a hand on the mirror, looking at the girl, looking at me, with pity.

And I accept it. I accept my death.
