I walked in the club, mama didn't know I was here, what would she say if she knew I was in a club, the ones my sisters go? Would her idea of me be even worse than it already is, would she think I'm even a bigger failure, a slut, a whore? I don't want her to be mad at me, I want her to think I work hard as a career, because I do I am one of the best. This club, it is to see what "life" is like. I want to make her proud. The club was full of lights and people I had to squeeze through the people to even get there, I really wasn't sure what to do, and I felt so uncomfortable, this just wasn't were I belong. I belong in the training center, or in the arena killing things.

Most girls had a tight dress on, I just had simple jeans and a tight red tee-shirt, nothing fancy. My curly orange hair was loose and not exactly in nicest form, it was getting in my way often and caught in other peoples hair. I made my way to the bar, where a younger guy smiled at me. I smiled back, but I felt highly uncomfortable and wanted to go hide in a corner. "Umm one sex on the beach please" I asked for the name of the only drink I know.

Kaia doesn't drink for the simple fact that drinking clouds her senses and she kind of needs them to get what she wants (a victim in the basement and their blood all over her skin). Drinking will confuse her - and anyway, Kaia doesn't really know just how much alcohol it'll take to get her drunk. So she might as well just avoid it.

But she still slips into the scene, delivering lingering touches on people who give her all at once hopeful and sly smiles, their eyes running over her lean frame; Kaia sips on her drink (a curled lemon peel in water) and acts giggly, acts like she doesn't know half of what's going on when her eyes run in a calculated manner over all the occupants of the area. No one guesses any different because no one expects her to be sober.

She just blends in (like a wolf among sheep).

Kaia won't admit it but she's still smarting slightly from her failure not too long ago; he got away. Everything was going so well and he got away, it's irritating and itches at her skin. Which is why even though she should be laying low she's back out in the thick of things, scanning the crowd for someone to play with.

She's been here for so long and so far no one's caught her eye. They're either too weak, too obsessed with their significant other or too surrounded by loved ones. Just... none of them fit her criteria for the night. She'll deal best with someone about his size, someone she can whip into submission - both figuratively and literally - but at the rate she's going she feels like as long as she has someone she won't really mind.

So when she spots the girl, all on her own...

Kaia smiles and lets her gaze linger. (She doesn't do 'go and get 'em', Kaia's never really had to. Besides, the girl will take notice.

I took a small sip of the drink that the bar tender just gave me, and for the fact it was the worst thing I ever tasted. I almost wanted to throw it up. This isn't like me. I never drink, I train hard to be a good career just like mommy wants to and here I am. I still can’t believe it, I feel so lonely and so alone sitting at the bar all alone. I feel like someone who just went through a bad breakup. My orange hair kept falling in my face, and I kept pushing it back, it started to get annoying. I hated my hair, I hated being here, and most of all I hated this drink.
I looked at the people dancing, most girls where with a guy. It was the same old story of guys dancing near the girl. I can’t even stand it, how could they just dance like that when there is training to be done. What happens if these people get chosen for the games, they would die because they didn’t do any training. I honestly do not know what to do with them. I feel like this place is a waste, a waste of time and money. My eyes scan the people once again, and I see another girl all alone, sipping a drink and acting like she was the dumbest person on earth and maybe she was.
I walked over to her with the drink in my right hand. She was pretty with blond hair and a cute nose. I sat myself next to her and smiled “Hi, my name is Adriana Birch”

"Hi, my name is Adriana Birch." (She sits like she owns the booth, without a hint of nervousness and Kaia thinks that she might be very fun indeed) Kaia allows her gaze to slide (drunkenly) over the other girl and she lets out a giggle. "Adriana," she says, rolling the r around with her tongue as she presses so far into the other girl's personal space that the concept of personal space just doesn't exist anymore. Kaia allows her chin to rest on the other girl's shoulder, letting out a throaty noise as she relaxes and breathes in Adriana's ear, "Hello." A smile spreads across her face, her eyes half-shut like a sleepy cat's. "My name is Kaia."

Her lips barely touch the other girl's ear, and she playfully catches her lobe in her teeth, mischief in every movement, calculation in her mind.

Kaia lets go. Play drunk, she reminds herself, and almost falls off her chair with another giggle. "Dance with me," she demands when she's balanced, like nothing just happened, and Kaia reaches to grab Adriana's hand to pull her onto the dance floor.

Kaia, this girl is drunk, maybe I am too, not sure though, how can you even tell when your drunk? Can you even walk? I should know this I have seen my siblings come home drunk and not being able to speak clearly. The way she says my name is interesting she rolls the r around like it her play toy. Now I even feel like her play toy, the way she acts like me. I am not meant for this, I’m meant to be somewhere else and not here, I really don’t like it here, but Kaia doesn’t seem too bad, she seems nice, and I think I might like here.

Somewhere in the back of my head I can hear a voice, Adriana you are drunk, and this girl is no good for you, turn around and go home right now. I don’t want to go home, for once in my life I am trying to be a girl, this is what girls do, at least I think this is what girls do, in all reality I have no clue what girls do. They train and go to school, at least that is what I do.

I have no other choice than go dance with her as she pulls me off towards the dance floor “Umm why not, not like your giving me much choice anyway” I said in-between giggling.

You always have a choice, Kaia thinks (thinks back to Mason and to how she'd never really given him a choice, how her victims have always said no at a time too late for them to back out because she lusts, and she lusts for their blood and it's a monster she can't rein in). But she doesn't say that, instead smiles in a drunken manner at the other girl, knowing the shadows the colored lights cast on her face make her alien, make her different. Mysterious, she thinks.

They're on the dance floor and Kaia's all up in her space, moving with abandon as she wobbles around in her heels, half-slumped against the ginger-haired girl. Adriana's kind of just... there, and Kaia acts as though she's a crutch she desperately needs.

It's so, so easy to lure in prey.

And really, they should stay prey.

The song's fast, and Kaia's not really keeping to the tempo and beat, moving instead to a song of her own. Moves her hands like Adriana's some kind of slippery eel, unable to hold onto the girl's cotton shirt and... jeans?

She doesn't react, but her left leg gives out and Kaia grabs on, hoping to pull the girl to the floor with.

Take me home.

That's where the real fun starts.

I suck at this kind of stuff, I can't dance, I can't flirt and I definitely can't stand the taste that the drink left in my mouth. Kaia tries to dance bu fails, and me don't even ask. I stand there like I am decoration, a very uncomfortable piece of decoration that just just wants to get away, but I know there is no hope in that, this girl has got a grip on me...literally, she can't even walk. I try to dance, but my bad attempt is embarrassing, and with this girl it is even harder. At the moment I just want to go home, but instead I imagine Milo taunting me that if I can't handle this, how am I ever going to handle the games.

"Umm are you feeling okay"

I say quietly hoping that she is just trying to scare me with an act.
