Christoph Shanley

Chris stands at about five foot, ten inches tall. Not terribly short, but still a bit shorter than the average man. He's never let it bother him, though, barely noticing it himself. He's built as a sturdy fellow, stout and bulky with muscle and a bit of pudge. He's strong in his upperbody, but not nearly the same strength in his legs. He's fairly slow, and can't run for long distances for anything.

He's got dark, shaggy hair, almost black in colour. It falls almost into his eyes on the days that it's not sticking up in every direction. Along with the top of his head, he has fur growing on his face; his jaw is often patches of stubble that he doesn't care to take care of until it just bothers him too much. His eyes are dark, the color of a deep brown. The kind of brown that only eyes can hold. His skin isn't too pale as he spends a lot of time outside and on the water, being the son of a fisherman.


The past is what makes everyone. Chris has always been stubborn, and the arguements with his parents have always seemed to strengthen that stubborn determinedness. He doesn't like to give up things that he starts, or give up on anything, really. Once something starts, whether it's a project or a belief, or whatever, Christoph sticks to it. You can try to prove him wrong, you can try to show him another way, but unless you blow his mind, nothing sways him. And he'll defend it to the death.

Chris is also a very confident man. He's confident in himself and all of his abilities in life. He doesn't question things that he knows he can do, he just gets up and does them. It always seems like quite a blow to his self-esteem when there's something that he's confident he can do yet can't quite accomplish. He ends up becoming semi-obsessed with changing the outcome, whether that means to work out until strong enough to do whatever it is he failed, or asking enough questions to those who knew what happened and change the next time.

Just as he did while younger, Chris does still get into quite a few arguements. Maybe not about the same things, but if someone brings up something that he disagrees with, Chrisoph is not the kind of man to sit back quietly. Even in the middle of a public area, where folks are watching and judging. Rarely does it excalade to throwing punches, but when it does, the man still doesn't step down.


Chris, as he prefers to be called, was often fighting with his parents about things as a boy. Constantly. He would go back on fights that were fought and done with, and bring them back up to fight again. Whether little things or big things, it didn't matter to him. And then, one day, he decided that he was done with his parents. He was done with the fighting, and the arguing, and the whole thing. So he took up his bags, and left the house. That was around his twelth birthday.

He had this idea, to get onto a fishing vessel and somehow sail off into the sunset to find a new world and new people. To find a new life. But he had forgotten what his father had told him about stowaways. About how they weren't allowed, and if found, they were punished. Harshly. It just so happened that it wasn't a Peacemaker who had caught him. In fact, it was the captain of the ship, a friend of his father's who was a fisherman himself.

Spending about a month on the fishing ship, Chris realized just how much nicer home was. How much easier it was to be at home, with his parents who loved him and tried their damnedest to take care of him. Here on the ship, he had to work, and work hard, to get by and earn his food. It taught him a lot. More than he would have wanted, but he was stuck until they reached the shore. And when they finally did, Chris was the first off, bolting back home. He appologized to his parents, explaining what had happened to him on the ship. A few years later, Christoph ended up working with his father on their own fishing ship, where he still works today.
