The afternoon sun was slowly sinking below the horizon, throwing shadows across the streets in District 11. I really must be getting back. A throng of people were going back from the fields, blocking Aymie's sight. The air was clean and fresh in the darkness, and the birds singing solemnly. ex..ex..Excuse me! Aymie pushed through the crowds and carried on towards the community home.
Still walking back, Aymie had enough of pushing through the crowds, stopping to rest, admiring the setting sun. Why can't I just slide down below people's vision, like the sun? The time was late, and the darkness was sneaking up on her. Aymie getting back up and heard a kind of sniffling. She turned, but nothing.
The darkness was leaving gaps, where the trees were leaving gaping holes, filled gladly by the sun. The community home was in sight! She stopped suddenly. Someone was surely following her, feet being dragged behind her. h..Hello? i..i..Is any..anyone there?
