Luna Shim

Luna walked towards a station that seemed to be for throwing knives, she decided to give it a try and then go to knives. Luna picked up one of the knives, she felt in her hand. The handle felt cool, as if it was put in cold water before it was placed on the rack. Luna steadied her feet, and aimed for the target. She threw it, and it hit the targets' feet. She burst out laughing, she found it hilarious that she did so horrible. Sometimes, failing is funny. Luna tried again, and it hit the hand. She shook her head, she didn't know why she expected so much of herself. Luna asked the instructor for help on throwing knives, and he gave some. It helped quite a bit, he gave some pointers and Luna followed along. Soon, she could hit in more fatal parts, not deathly, just fatal.

Luna started thinking about the tributes this year, who would be a threat and who would be a good ally. She thought that the boy from 12 could be a good one, but she couldn't tell if he was trustworthy or not. Luna kept throwing knives, she was awfully bored because there was absolutely nothing to do besides practice. Luna listened to the sound of the knive hitting the dummy, she thought it sounded like a persons heart. Thump, Thump, Thump, it made Luna think that maybe that was why throwing knives were in the games because it ended a thumping/beating heart. Luna threw knives more, not paying attention to her surroundings and if there was anyone coming up behind her.

Your eyes scan the training center, concentrating on learning all you can about these people who, in less than two weeks, you will have to kill. Keep your friends close but your enemies closer The words echo in your mind as you stalk over to one of the stations, your hands reaching for a knife that you intend to throw at the dummies. You've never been the best with throwing knives but you never know what weapon you'll get once in the games.

Picking up a knife, you eye it carefully, balencing it in your palm as thuds fill your ears. The tributes around you are busy at work learning the techniques to survive. (Not that they'd need them as soon enough they'd all be dead). Smirking, you draw back your muscled arm and let the knife fly through the air, embedding into the abdomen of your target. Not great but not too bad either, it would wound your target enough to run in and finish the job. Could you kill? If you had to. Did you really want to? Of course not, the only reason you would kill was if you had to to get home to Jill.

Tossing another knife, you notice another person at your station. She's from district five you thought. What was her name again? you wonder, putting on a grin. She was younger than you and something about her reminded you of Winnow, you wanted to protect her. She's another tribute, she's not Winnow, get your head in the game Jix. She's an enemy and you might have to kill her. You scold yourself before sighing and ignoring your thoughts.

"Hello" you say, trying to be polite.
