Intelligence has never been my strong suit. I've mostly gotten by on my so called "good looks." If I cared enough, I'd call myself a loser. But life has gotten to that point where it doesn't really matter much. Whether people rely on their smarts or their looks they'd still be at risk of being reaped. And even if they didn't, where are those traits going to get them? Definitely not out of this district. If anything, all life is is a popularity game. I haven't been one too interested in playing that game. I've never been much of an optimist. Not since the day I got appendicitis when I was ten. I would have died like most others that were diagnosed with it but I got lucky. At the time, there was an incredibly talented healer who kept me alive. Managed to cut me open, sew me up with no complications at all. That healer has since passed and the only memory of that day is the long scar running from above my belly button to my belt line. But I always wondered, why me? The pain was like nothing I've ever felt. I don't think most people knew what pain was unless their appendix had ruptured. Though it has made me stronger. There's not many kinds of pain that scares me anymore. Even some forms of death can come quietly or quickly.
Unlike my sister, I find it easy to make friends. In school, kids just flocked to me. I suppose my dry sense of humor and pessimistic point of view is something people look for these days. Or maybe there's just something about a guy who doesn't mind being a loner that makes him cool. Most people find it hard to believe that we're related since we may as well be polar opposites. But thats only in public. When she's home with me and dad, she's just as outgoing as I am. I constantly feel the need to look out for her. She's only a year younger than me but she may as well still be the little girl I've always known her to be. My only regret is not being able to volunteer in her place if she were ever to get reaped.
I'm built like my dad. Tall (6'1'' to be exact), broad shoulders and a masculine, square jaw. Thick neck and calves. My large feet hardly fit into a size thirteen, so it's difficult to purchase shoes my size. That also led to me being very protective over my shoes. There's not many things that can set me off but scuff my shoes and I might have to start a fight. Like most of the other guys my age in district seven, I've got a decent muscle build. Thanks to chopping all the wood and lugging it around from here to there. One thing I could do without is the dimple in my chin. If I ever took the time to look in a mirror, I can't help but think it looks like a little pimple. Or like I've been stabbed by a pencil. Or maybe just an odd looking patch of facial hair that refuses to grow anywhere else but that one little spot on my chin. I don't usually let people get close enough to get a good look at it, so I suppose we could just leave it to their imagination. I have my hair and eyes from my mother, at least from what I'm told. Thick brown curly hair. Almond shaped eyes. I don't have a clear memory of her and all her pictures have slowly disappeared. I have a bit of a weak spot for women. It may have came from my mom, it may have come from looking over my sister out whole lives, but who knows? Maybe I'm just being a guy. What guy could ever ignore a damsel in distress? "Oh Dax, don't ever fall in love." my sister would tell me. "It's just not worth it. You get attached only to get ripped apart again. It always happens eventually." I knew she was right. I've seen it time and time again. Love ripped apart by the Games, illness, starvation... I guess it's alright though.There shouldn't room for love in the life of a pessimist.
If you asked my "closest" friend to describe me in three words, he might say "dark and brooding". If you'd asked me, the answer would be "should i care?" But if you asked my sister, she'd probably say there was no way to cover my personality with three words. She tell me my heart is too big for my own good. I just find myself not often sharing that with anyone else but her though. I may get called sweet or thoughtful but I'm pretty picky about who gets that treatment from me. If i had to go in depth, thick-skinned, in every sense of the word, is a good way to go. There's never been an insult someone could throw at me that would affect my mood. I'm just completely indifferent, I suppose. Although I'm indifferent, I'm relatively adaptable. I can deal with change, I know most people can't. So I suppose you can call it a strength of mine. I don't suppose there will ever be a way to explain myself in a way that makes sense. Odd combinations just run through my blood.

Hey Sailor! This is a really good app so far, but looking at it, it doesn't seem like you've quite met the minimum requirements. Obviously all of your information is kind of mixed in and it's hard to tell, but we require 3 paragraphs for history, 3 for personality, and two for appearance. Could you try to add more details about him to flesh this app out a little bit more? You've got a great start. Once you're done, post here to bump up the thread!
