[presto] cadman gertz. fifteen. male. district three. THE ROSES OF THE CIMARRON | I stand alone. My fingers dance gracefully, carefully crafting an effective knot. The others seem interested in taking classes in weapons, learning how to handle a sword or how to throw a spear. I simply work on my knots, not minding the work of having to constantly yank on a rope to break the knot. It's really all pointless. I know that I do not have many days left. I know my death will be vicious and painful. But all I care about is being able to know that I have saved the others. I suppose my logic is flawed. I suppose I could just reveal the Stines during my interview. But where is the fun in that? No, I want to see that they are destroyed completely. When their daughter and sister is dead, when they feel as if they can't move on. That is when I will strike. I've always been a sucker for dramatics. The stench of sweat is beginning to fill the room, and I'm sure 23 teenagers training for a life or death game would cause that. Even I sweat a little when the Careers step up and completely rip apart a dummy. I'm so fucked. There is nothing to stop these people from harming me. I can't stop it, but I can't except it. Yet.
