Leon,
Right now, words can't begin to describe how I feel. You were reaped for the games, and will be taken away from us. Emotions aren't clear right now. Pain, anxiety, depression, hopefulness, anger. All of them flow through me at the same time. But as bad as it makes me feel, nothing will ever change what's about to happen. You are about to take another step in your life, and maybe you'll prove you are stronger than all the other tributes, that you have what it takes to win. It won't be the same at the training center with you gone. I know, I never really talked to you, but I was always watching. You're smart, talented, strong, brave, courageous. The few times I would lurk behind you watching in the shadows waiting to talk to you, but I wasn't brave, and I wasn't courageous. I was a coward because it's like my entire life has been a ghost; very few people notice I even exist, and those who notice me, don't like me because of how I am.

I hate myself for not talking to you. There's a reason we are all brought together, yet in the end, nothing makes sense. The Capitol has a strange sense of humor as they love watching us die one by one in the games. We have an advantage, though, because we train. We know how to fight with weapons, but it doesn't make it right. Watching people kill for survival is horrible in a way, yet it always seems fun because that's why we train - to kill.

It'll be hard sitting here watching you go through the games as you fight for your life, but I believe in you, and I want you to know that. I may not be a friend, or someone you'd ever want as a friend, and I apologize for that. I just want you to fight like you've never fought before. Fight for your survival. Fight to come home. Be brave in the face of death. Look death in the eye and laugh at it, mock it, don't let it take you. Whatever happens in the arena, give it your best. Remember everything you've learned in training, and don't trust people too close.

Everyone in the games is going to want to win, and they'll do whatever it takes even if it means killing people they call allies. Use your brains because you are smart. Don't fall into the trap of thinking everyone cares for you. Remember, you are about to become a cold blooded killer. Not that you want to, but because you have to. Fight to survive. Fight to return home because people here want you home.

Please, Leon, don't forget about anyone here at home because we'll never forget about you.

Stay strong and remember that I'm cheering for you.
