    I woke up rather early this morning, because I was going to see Preston for the first time in forever. I hadent seen him in probably almost a month, or something like that. I missed him, he has always been a huge supporter for me, and that little turd was my best friend. I loved him, not in a relationship wise way, that would be disgusting. In a brotherly type way. We took care of eachother, and i liked that. He was really good at comforting me, and he always seemed like he actually cared what i was talking about. I got up out of bed and made my way to the kitchen. In the kitchen I grabbed a bite to eat, and returned to my bed. I went into my closet, and put on my daisy covered dress. I loved this dress, it made me look less under unmuscular. I ran to the door and grabbed my jacket. Hale wasn't awake yet, and i didn't plan on waking him. My father must of already left for work, i will probably see him later.

I think Preston and I agreed to meet in front of my house, so I stepped out and waited. As I sat there many things went through my mind, like I wonder if he is bigger, does he have a different hair cut, or maybe he has grown facial hair. Then I realized it has only been a month not to much could of changed....Right?

Preston woke up this morning with a major headache, which was bad in his case but he had to shake it off. Why? Because he was going to see his favorite and best friend since he could ever remember, in a way she was kind of like Emeline in a way; she had become his best friend and it stayed that way for quite a while. For a couple minutes, he sat there on his bed cuddling the blanket towards his body. After three minutes or so, he finally got up and stretched with a loud yawn. It was around five in the morning, Oh shit.. He thought to himself, he was going to be late for their meet-up to catch up on life. For a quick second he almost had started to run towards his drawer to hurry up, excitement of seeing his best friend and secret crush again flowed through him and he really couldn't contain the excitement. But, he didn't. I twas like, five in the morning and it wasn't a smart idea to wake his whole entire family up. Grabbing a t-shirt, jeans, boots, and a jacket along with an umbrella due to the amount of rain they have been having recently and walked outside.

Taking a nice, deep breath he breathed in the beautiful smell that usually came after a long rain-shower in the summer or spring. He absolutely loved that smell, it felt lively and really lightened his spirit quite a bit. He stood there for a second, looking off into the distance for a second and shivered slightly as a cold breeze hit his neck. It started to rain lightly, and he didn't really like getting his hair wet so he put his umbrella up. He needed to think for a quick second to remind himself of where they were meeting, and then it popped into his head. They were supposed to meet at her house, or Preston thought so. He started to walk over there, kind of wondering what she'd look like. Did she change? Probably she was wondering the same about himself, if he had changed. He didn't, or at least he thought he didn't. After a bit of walking, he finally saw her. In his mind, he imagined it as if it were two people who haven't seen each other for ten years reuniting on a beach.. The kind of slow-motion thing, but not romantic. Walking up to her, he waved and smiled with a friendly "Hey," flowing from his mouth.

After almost twenty minutes of waiting, I finally decide to sit on my front step. I wonder why he was so late? Had he gotten lost, or was he ditching me. No he would never ditch me, we were to close. I was just being impactient, he will be here soon. I decide to go inside and grab my brothers shirt I had promised to mend. I grabbed my needle and thread and brought it outside, so that I could sew my brothers shirt while I was waiting. Maybe I had gotten up to early, I am always to anxious. I just finished mending the shirt, when I saw a distant figure walking towards me. It must be him, who else could it be. I put the shirt aside and I stand up. I brush off my dress and quickly fix my hair. He finally makes it to me, and I look at him and smile. "Hey", he says. This was just the sort of dorky thing he would say to introduce himself. I look at him and grin,"come here you big dummy." I say. "I missed you". I say again. I reach out to him and force myself on him. I didn't really care if he hugged me back, because whether he wanted or not I was going to make him embrace me with his, actually somewhat buff arms. I nuzzle my head into his chest, and it feels comforting.

Preston smiled softly as the girl embraced him, saying that she had missed him. He hugged her back for a couple seconds, kind of running his fingers through her hair slowly yet fast enough that she didn't hit him for playing with her hair. For a second he was admiring the moment and then pulled away. "I missed you too," He said with another small smile, and grinned that dorkish grin he had. "Well, want to go on a walk while we catch up on life?" He asked the girl that he had known oh so closely, putting a hand to the side as if he was to be saying 'You First'. With yet another dorkish grin, he laughed out loud for a second then slapped his hand over his mouth; forgetting he had to be quiet. After a couple minutes of just standing there, he suddenly felt a really cold breeze on his legs and had no idea why. Looking down, he had started to blush majorly as he realized his pants had fallen down. He scrambled to pull them back up before anyone came outside their house and thought he was a complete idiot/weirdo, not that he wasn't one already. Preston looked up at his friend with a face that kind of said 'oh my god i'm so sorry'.

Preston didn't know what else to really do, he was awfully embarrassed and scratched his neck for a bit with an awkward smile. Standing there, he was kind of bored and didn't know what to do. He smiled a bit, thinking about what had just happened. It was actually pretty funny, hopefully there wasn't any people looking out their window after waking up and saw that. Yeah, that'd definately be a good way to wake up.

As I sit here bundled up in the arms of my best friend, I feel peace, I feel warmth, And most of all I feel comfort. Its been to long since I have been held by a man that actually cares for me. Sure Preston is a complete dork, but I liked to think of him as an extra brother. A brother that I need for protection and security. He has been here for me since a young age, and I love him. I held on to him for a long time, just appreciating his presence. I felt the slightest touch of his fingers twirling my hair behind my back. I didn't bother confronting him, because I kind of liked it. I finally let go of him, and smiled up at him. "I missed you too", He says. We lock eye contact for a little bit longer. "Well, want to go on a walk while we catch up on life?" He asked. I grinned yet again at him, and I noticed him sticking his hand out, edging me to lead the way. Right before I took my first step his pants fell straight to his ankles. My jaw nearly dropped in embarrassment for him. I'm sure my cheeks turned a bright red, and I could look him in the eye. he was wearing a pair of plan, gray underwear, they are called briefs I believe. They suited him, but still, I couldn't believe I just saw my best friend so exposed. Its not like I haven't seen men naked before, considering what I have done for money, but seeing him at his most vulnerable, really did a number on me. I wasn't even capable of speech. I just stared in the direction i wanted to walk, and started walking.

After about five minutes of us walking in silence, I finally decide to break the awkward silence. "So how is your family doing"? I ask still incapable of eye contact.

Preston followed Katri closely, replaying the recent event in his head again. He smirked, it was pretty funny to admit that it had happened but the timing was pretty horrible. Looking around, the area had seemed to be a beautiful place to be at the moment. The sun was almost risen to the point where most people were awake, and the the cool breeze on his shoulder was pretty comforting. The male walked along, looking around trying to avoid eye contact with the girl and it seemed she was doing the same. She finally spoke, relieved, Preston took a quick sigh in relief. "How's your family?" His friend had asked, he thought about his family for a second to think about what to say. His family seemed pretty okay, nothing really important has happened recently so he just went ahead and answered with the most regular answer to almost anything; "They're doing fine, thanks for asking." The male said with a smile, he scratched his arm for a second due to the awkward silence that had fallen upon them after answering the question he had received. "What about your family, is everything all fine and dandy?" Preston asked again with a dorkish grin that he probably had after saying almost anything, and thinking about that made him smile more. Is it human to smile this much? Jesus, Preston thought to himself. And yet again, yep, you guessed it; he smiled.

After my question, I noticed a slight gust of air burst from his lips. Must of been a sign of relieve. I assume he wasn't enjoying this awkwardness anymore than I was. He took a second to answer my question. He must of been running things through his head. "They're doing fine, thanks for asking." he said. Ugh really Preston. He was doing a horrible job helping me break the ice. He responded with the most ordinary answer on the face of the earth. Sometimes I wonder if that boy has any knowledge running through his head. I guess I better not beat up on him to bad, I'm sure he was just nervous to speak. Things became awkward and silent yet again, thanks to this big dummy. I noticed him scratching his arm, maybe a way to seem like he wasn't feeling as awkward as I was, but he definitely was. "What about your family, is everything all fine and dandy?" he asked. Really Preston "fine and dandy?" Who says that. Whatever I guess he is expecting a reply to his question. I run the thought of my family through my head. My father is working non stop, my brother is barely getting enough to eat, I can notice hes thinning out. I fall off track for a second and notice Preston getting antsy. I mean my family was doing horrible, but I couldn't tell him that. I've been sleeping with middle aged men to make a little extra cash. That would sound horrible. So I went with the same dumb, over used answer "They are doing just fine, thanks for asking". Well great now I am a hypocrite. I noticed Preston making his same weird little grin, it was kind of cute though, in a puppy sort of way I mean. We walked by what looked like a bench, so I decided to sit down. I patted the seat next to me, as if to invite him to sit. "Well Preston, lets catch up, shall we?"I say. How stupid could I sound, ugh what is wrong with me. "Shall we", I cant believe those words left my lips, whatever maybe he didn't notice my dorky comment.

Raising an eyebrow, he listened to what the girl would answer for the question he had asked her. She said the exact same thing as he did, and he laughed. "Thanks, I guess you have to copy every single move I make now don't I?" The male said with a questioning smirk, and then laughed again. God, he had to stop being so happy and had to be a bit more serious. Then again, he was with his friend. Why did he think that he had to settle down? Most likely because he was making the largest fool out of himself, and didn't really recognize it. Looking at the grass, it reminded him of siblings and friends. Why? Because grass can be plucked away easily, it reminded him of siblings and friends because the reaping could take your siblings and friends and just take them away like it never mattered. His face darkened at the thought, and he wanted to slap himself for thinking that. It was still during the games, and the reapings were quite a long ways away. He really didn't have to worry about that much but he would most likely end up thinking about it some other time in his life, or some time within the games and reaping season. The teenage male was walking down the cement, listening to both his and the girl walking beside him that seemed so familiar's footsteps. Thump, thump, thump. The sounds echoed through his mind, but a voice entered his mind. It was feminine, and probably her's. "Lets catch up on life, shall we?" The voice had said, he chuckled as he recognized it was the same thing he had said earlier. "I guess, anything sooooo important I am DYING to know?" The male said mimicking Caesar in a way, acting as if he was holing a microphone to his mouth and saying the words. He motioned to the 'crowd' for some reaction, and impersonated some 'yeahs' and cheers, added in a 'can we just move on to the next tribute please?' with a dorkish grin. He waited for the girl to answer his question, because he didn't want to seem rude and interrupt her before she could even answer.
