my broken ship sets sail [A_million_arrows]

Two weeks ago they had set sail, they had left the port on their boat, setting out to target a few ships that had left port only a few hours ahead of them. They were all confident in their abilities to catch up with no time at all. They were experienced sailors, they lived and breathed the ocean. My life was connected to the waves that slapped the sides of the ship, the rhythm of their movements like a step by step call to the beat of my heart. Every breathe I took was an echo of the air, and the salt and this world I was apart of.

It was the boys that had the final say in my last minute sign up for the Olympics. My event wasn't going to occur for a few days yet, so instead I was using the little time I had to explore the Olympic village. So I found myself wandering the streets, drinking in the sight of a all the hundreds of different people. People from district one and district two, they looked different, they looked proud and powerful and rather condescending, in all honesty.

They were so unlike the ocean.
