WRESTLING: ROUND 3

Welcome to the Wrestling event of the second Panem Olympic Games! The wrestling mats are located within the Olympic Arena, with stands for spectators traveling from Districts One, Two, Four, and the Capitol to watch the competitors. Television cameras are set up around as well, to broadcast the event to anyone staying home as well as to the other districts who aren't as lucky and competent as you all! Please be sure you stretch and warm up with your coaches before you're called to the starting block, and remember, make your district proud!

The wrestling event is a tournament, which follows a bracket. Each match will occur on this thread. Feel free to roleplay your character grappling with their opponent and then paste the code [*roll range="1-15"] without the asterisk into your post and roll, as you would with a Hunger Games die. This number is used to determine the winner of each match.

The competitor who scores higher than their opponent moves on to the next round, which will be posted on a new thread. As the wrestlers post, the winners and scores will be recorded here; when all the first round matches have been completed, the bracket will be updated and the next round will start.

There is NO POSTING ORDER; you may post whenever you please. Keep in mind that this event must be wrapped up by the end of the Olympics Day.

He hadn't seen Quin for a while now. It was because their events kept being one after the other and then Ty would get all panicky and Quin wouldn't be around so he'd do what he always did when he got those feelings. He went off to find another body. This time however, he'd found the contact in a fight rather than the other kind of physicality that he loved. Last night his fists had flown and he'd received so many bruises that this morning he wasn't walking all that well.

It'd been worth it though. He felt more whole today, like he was able to breath just the tiniest bit better. ~~Not through his nose though, that hurt far too much.~~ He'd made it a bit farther than he'd thought he would in the wrestling, seeing as he barely bothered showing up to career training anymore. It was probably due to his excellence in the sack that he was able to stay in the rounds.

Yesterday he'd been up against a good looking dude from four. Today he groaned internally, externally, and eternally when he saw the roster. He was against that crazy Moreno chick, the one that had also been all wrapped up in those gang wars last year. The last thing he wanted is to be up against some crazy bitch from the projects. People like her liked to break bones rather than wrestle.

He didn't have much choice though as he positioned himself on the mat. At this point he'd probably just try to cop a feel because he was a fucking sleeze with no sense of self-worth.

He only had to make it through one more round, and there would be a medal to put on his parents' mantle and a world of bragging rights to rub in his colleagues' faces. One more round to bring a great deal of recognition from many highers-up within the Peacekeepers to recognize him and his station; even without promotion (which, if he brought home a gold, was not entirely unlikely), his own power and influence would be increased tenfold.

Whoever this Keifer guy was, Brody was trying very hard to take him seriously; he was, of course, a Career like everyone else... But he was a prettyboy. For no discernable rhyme or reason, Brody couldn't stand prettyboys. But he knew better than to assume that because his opponent had a nice face that he didn't know how to grapple; some of his potential future opponents (and, to be fair, some of those who had narrowly been defeated earlier) had looks and skill in spades to prove that point.

Brody smirked imagining what Keifer's pretty face and overly-styled hair would look like smashed against the wrestling matt.

I've been told I have a devil's heart and, as such, I'm attempting to make a deal with myself. Whispering under my breath — the incantations of a self-confessed black magic woman — I make promises in exchange for the hope of another win. I've come far enough now that shameless greed has found me. It's not that I haven't wanted victory since the start ~~of everything~~, but this is the brink, where my eye has caught a glimmer of something more.

Fucking gold. I've always been a sucker for it.

Something twists in my gut as I step onto the mat and come face to face with today's opponent, however. I recognize him. It's a vague sense of knowing, almost as frustratingly unplaceable as déjà vu, except that he's from One and that means... we must have fought before. Opponents or allies, it doesn't even matter, because if I know anything, it's that the people who've stood most closely to me in life are the ones I've hurt the worst. Danger is just the distance between me and everything else. "Yeah," I grin at him, teeth and all, as I clock the flare of recognition in his own eyes, "I'm that Ella."

Unholy, through and through. If nothing else, we can safely bet on that.
