*It was a cold morning for four. The sun rose right up above the horizon, but the fog made everything seem gray and dull. The sun was hardly seen behind the fog and the clouds. The waves were calm. Everything looked frozen in a dark, pristine way. Although it wasn't a happy day, everything seemed perfectly fine. The only color to be seen was the salty-green water, and the subtle orange tint above the clouds that was hardly noticeable. The air was bitter and cold, but somehow the sand still managed to feel warm.

Ryan had biked up to the beach this morning, even though it had been nearly a mile away. His father had decided they go up to their fishing house. Which happened to almost be right on the water. Ryan's father chose to drive up later in the afternoon, while Ryan decided to bike up early morning. All he wore warm was a sweatshirt. It wasn't to cold, but it was cold for the district, normally being room temperature or higher during the day. He wasn't hot though, mostly because he had broken a sweat on the way down. He arrived at the edge of the beach, where he parked his bike and jogged down onto the sand. He stood with his feet in the cold water, and hands in his pockets. He realized he was waiting for something, anything. And he watched the sun rise into the sky, although it was foggy and hard to see. "C'mon." He said. "Please, i just need company." he whispered under his breath.
