So, unless one already exists and I just haven't stumbled across it yet, I was thinking maybe it would be helpful to make a directory of links to sites people use to find FCs/pictures of their FCs, names and so on.

I've handed my own sources out, and they seem to be really useful, but I don't think I have enough to go making a Character Creation Guide.

Plus it would probably help to put our heads (and links) together, yeah? :3

You can always ask the cbox for help finding FCs. We have some excellent FC finders. Here are two sites that I typically use:

FC Masterlist (tumblr)

PB Updates (livejournal)

I think I miscommunicated: I don't need help finding an FC, I want to share the resources I have for finding FCs/picking names/etc. for peeps who are making new characters.

Does the site have a list of resources like that? If not, methinks it would be useful. :3

Finding FCs
Hollow-Art- FC-finding site; Search function will let you search by gender, hair/eye color, age group, race, etc.
TI4U- Mostly actors/actresses in their teens through 30s; I use it more for stocking up on pictures after I've already picked an FC

Naming Sites
KateMonk Onomastikon- Name dictionary; sorted by country.
2000 Names- Another naming site; also sorted by country
Behind The Name- Database of names, meaning and origin; good if you want a name with a significant meaning
_{(I typically pick naming conventions by a country/ancestry; makes it easier to name entire families too!) [ex. Andrei Ehrenström- Swedish; Maximilian Stahl- German]}

Behind The Name- has lists of first/middle names by country and gender; includes name meanings when available
Behind the Surname- same as Behind the Name, but for last names
Kate Monk's Onomastikon- massive naming dictionary! Doesn't have meanings, but typically has lots of first and last names by country (not all countries have surname lists)
20,000 Names- similar to Behind the Name; has first/middle and last names with meanings and origins
Naming Tutorial- CAUTION 2.0 tutorial on choosing a name

Hollow-Art- face claim database will let you search by name or physical traits (search tool is awesome, but they've been having server issues lately)
Tumblr- seems obvious, but searching simple tags like 'male model'/'female model' can provide a variety of results (I've found more than one FC this way)
FC Masterlist- a Tumblr account that breaks up celeb face claims by demographics and lists them by age; you'll have to look the names up yourself though
