Ain't sure what ya wanna know 'bout me. I was born fifteen years ago along with my twin brother. Ma and Pa didn't ever have enough for us growing up. Most nights I went to sleep with my stomach a growling 'cause we ain't able to always eat. If they're wasn't enough on the table, Ma and Pa would give us the food they would've ate. Still ain't much though, but it got us through. Pa worked long hours in the fields under the hot sun. He always came home dirty and stinky. I ain't never gonna forget how he looked each day he walked in the tiny house. Ma sewed things together for people. She'd do whatever she could with the cloth given to her. I must say she was good at her job.

It was in those nights of hunger and cold me and Kirito spent much time together. When it was too cold out, we huddled together in the bed using whatever we could find as a blanket 'cause it rough living here. Fire wasn't much 'cause Ma and Pa couldn't afford to keep it running, and there's only so much one can put in a fire without burning the house to the ground, but I ain't sure if that a good thing or not. Nights drew longer and longer as the cold chilled deeper than any ice cube could. Me and my twin took turns telling stories as we stayed covered underneath the blankets. It ain't only to knock the chill away, but it also helped keep my mind on something other than the constant growl inside my stomach. Some nights it worked, but most nights it didn't.

Pa died a horrible death. Even though it was seven years ago, I ain't never gonna forget the pain it caused Ma. I was only eight, and I ain't able to know what pain was. It was a hot day. The sun was shining high in the sky scorching the land. The grass crunched with each step I took, and many died of heat and not having enough to drink. I was climbing high in the apple trees gathering the apples only the tiniest could reach when I saw people gathered around. I climbed down the tree as fast as I could, and I ran over to the crowd. Pa was on the ground. His face red as can be. He wasn't sweating or nothing, and I saw his chest wasn't moving. I screamed for him, but the guys in white drug him away and ordered us to get back to work. Pa died, and there ain't a day that goes by that I don't miss him.

Since Pa died, Kirito took up working as a healer trying to help people. I took over the job for Pa. I spent endless hours in the fields working. Harvesting the fruits and veggies, carrying heavy sacks to the designated location so it could go to the Capitol. I did whatever I could, and it ain't never enough. Still many nights we went hungry, but it kept bringing me closer to my brother. It might be strange, but I care for him, and ain't nobody ever gonna hurt him 'cause I ain't letting that happen. Is it wrong? Ain't nothing wrong with caring for him. Some might say I love him, and that's kinda true 'cause he's family. Can't make me stop love family.

It a good thing Kirito started learning how to heal people 'cause Ma got really sick, and she's still sick. I ain't sure what's wrong with her, and it don't look like anyone does. It's sad 'cause I ain't got no clue if she gonna live or die. For a while it looked like she'd join Pa in the afterlife, but somehow he managed to save her. Can't forget the nights we spent looking at her in her room, and all we could do was stand around hugging each other. I wiped tears from the eyes of my brother. I gotta be strong 'cause it's like everyone relies solely on me. I get the plants for him. It ain't always the easy thing to do, but I gotta make sure he can make them in the stuff he makes.

I definitely changed over the last few years. I shot up fast to a height of five foot five inches. I ain't sure 'bout the weight, but I'm around one hundred thirty pounds if that. I got some muscles from carrying all the heavy sacks. I got light brown angular eyes. Ma says I got 'em from Pa. I ain't sure 'cause I ain't able to remember what he looked like. My hair is short, and it's 'bout the color of dead grass. Might be a bit darker, but it's close enough for me. And I got this mole over my left eye brow. Ain't sure what it is or where it came from, but it ain't no big deal. Nothing ain't a big deal now 'cause everything happens for a reason.

My walking ain't the best. I was probably 'bout thirteen when I jumped outta tree landing on my legs and snapped both of 'em. I definitely glad Kirito knows his stuff 'cause he took the pain right away, and he helped me get back on my feet. Can't sit around at home 'cause I gotta make some money by working. Now I understand why Pa always came home covered in dirt. I think it permanently stained my skin, and I ain't got no way of getting it off. My nails are black underneath. Not worth it to try to clean 'em out 'cause the dirt just goes right back to that same place.

Ain't got much clothes, but the clothes I own are dirty. I gotta white shirt that's stained and almost looks brown now, and I wear pants all the time 'cause I'm always out. Being out allows me to make new friends, but it's kinda hard now 'cause I ain't in school anymore. I hadta quit when Pa died, and now I ain't able to read or write. Ain't nobody wanna hang out with someone who can't read or write. Kirito does, and he says he loves me, and I'm perfect in every way.

Maybe it's a good thing I got him as a twin. I ain't sure what I'd do without him. I vowed to protect him with my life, and that's what I gotta do. I gotta protect my family 'cause I stepped in a huge position. Ma says I make a good man of the house, and I gotta make sure the house remains standing. I gotta bond with Kirito, and nobody gonna be able to change it 'cause I love him more than a brother, and I wanna stay with him for the rest of my life. Ain't nothing wrong with that 'cause as long as we're happy ain't nothin else that matters.

So what if I'm made fun of for it? I don't care 'cause it ain't none of their business, and if they gotta problem, I'm more than willing to make them pay. Best to just stay outta my business.
