Well that was easy, was it not? Normally when I come to the stable the people who greet me aren't exactly, how do I put it, nice. But this girl, this stablehand is I guess what she is, well she seemed genuinely excited to see me.

Now. Normally I do see the best in people. But on days like this not everyone is so happy to be out of their house, away from the maids and nice warm cups of hot chocolate. Well, I guess most people don't have maids here in District Five, but ain't that just besides the point now? Maybe this lady was here to kidnap me for ransom? Probably not, she seems nice and all. But I have to be on my toes.

"I haven't seen you before? Did you just start working here?" I say, trying to be as nice as possible with my tone.

This newer stablehand seems far more calm and collected than I thought she might be. She seems like she isn't a threat to me or to order. No threat to law. So I relax, slacken my shoulders ever so slightly. At least I don't have to worry about a kidnapping on this perfect January day.

Yet I cannot believe that she's been working at the stable for 5 months. That seems just so very unlikely. I come here at least once every two weeks and yet I've never seen her before. Just how is that possible? Especially when I mix up the days I come.

"Are you sure it's been five months? I don't think I've ever seen you before and I come here extremely often," I say inquisitively, continuing to walk towards where Jackie's stall is. I'm still interested in knowing the absolute truth behind this girl.
