Loneliness is all Joey felt. Everyone was gone. Deimos Lasner and Henry Fleet, he'd seen them fight and fail. Their deaths still haunt his very head. The way Deimos' head falls to the ground and the puddle of blood coming out of the place his head used to be. Joey had cried so hard that day. The guy you fall for, dying right in front of your eyes and you can do nothing to save him. Henry was next. His only best friend. The man who had shown Joey what it's like to have friends. What real friends are like. Joey's mind then went to the last person he's met. Wyatt Manderson. The one guy who made Joey shut up and think about life as a whole. The guy who taught Joey about how to talk back to someone.

Joey's feet were on their own path to where ever he was going. He had been at the reaping. He knew who it was this time. It had been like almost every other reaping that someone he knew was reaped. They would go up and that would be their doom. Joey was used to it by now. He believed he had a curse for it though. First Deimos, then Henry, and now Wyatt. Joey's eyes had stared at Wyatt the entire time. He didn't know what to do. He was frozen in shook. His head was spinning. The only other person he knew that was kind of a dick to him was reaped. Most people would be happy, but all Joey felt was lonely. Lonely in a world that was cruel and took everything Joey wanted.

The walk inside was just like the ones before. It was quiet and the Justice building was just as plain on the inside as he remembered. The door was the same one that he went into twice already and now the third time. "Well, it’s about—“ That's what first came out of Wyatt's mouth. Next was something that Joey never expected. “Look who it is. Thought you would be out in the woods, getting mad at the trees or something.” Joey put on his fake smile, the one he was perfecting more and more every day. He looked at Wyatt, the guy who helped him out of the forest. Joey had blamed his craziness on dehydration that day and left it at that. Joey just quietly stood there until he spoke with sarcasm in his tone, "Still see you are the same old asshole that I love. Nah man, did that yesterday, a Birch was yelling at me and I thought I'd punch it."

Joey just smiled until his thoughts about Wyatt saying something before. Joey was concentrating. He didn't know what to say. He was calculating it after all, Wyatt was a very calculated person. Joey opened his mouth to speak, but stopped and then finally he spoke again, "Are you really that ready to leave this district?" Joey just stared at Wyatt. His eyes roamed over the calculated man and Joey was trying to memorize his body and his look just so he could remember what Wyatt looked like. The memory of Deimos he had was the feel of laughter. Deimos' laugh was something he remembered perfectly. For Henry, it was the hand on the shoulder. The way how it'd comfortably lay on his shoulder. And now for Wyatt, he'd find something. Something that would be etched into his head forever. That's all Joey wanted, besides having him back. Something to remember.
