Darkness envelopes the monsters [Ghosty/Marr]

When the sun starts to set, Ophelia starts to walk out of her tiny little abode, right at the fence side of the district, a good distance away from the rest of the district. Not because she couldn't afford any closer, but because she likes the company of herself, and occasionally her brother. The night time was when she was awake, and the daytime was the time for sleep. Among the benefits was the avoiding of many imbeciles that annoy her so much. But she couldn't avoid every thing that annoys her, and the night has the better of two evils. She sighs; the fresh(ish) district air whistled through and down her throat, refreshing her. Heading towards the main area of the district, where people are and live.

To get there however, she had to pass past the entrance to the mine, which contained another of her pet hates. Miners. They walked around like the hero's of the town, and all they do is rip bits of rock from the center of the earth, and bring them above the earth. And she walks a little faster, past and away from the mine. Taking a shortcut that cuts out almost half of the journey time, she spies ahead of a boy that seems to be having almost the same idea as she is; saving time. And she decides to have some fun with him.

Calling out, she said "Help! Help! I've been beaten up. Please help!" And lucky for her, the fact of her lack of sleep, and the pale skin due to her nocturnal nature, made her look rather ill, and damaged. And to finish off the effect, she slid down a wall, and allowed a little wail escape her mouth. Allowing herself an inner smile, she thinks "It's all in the game, hm?"

Ophelia smiles, as the boy turned around, the look on his face verging on panic, of the fear that someone had wounded someone like me. He walks back fast, almost too fast; he was ready for a fight. "Where's he at? Who beat you up?" he said, almost shouting. "Speak up girl. Now! Tell me where this asshole went..." He went off at the end, looking around for a fight. Ophelia looks at him weakly, and said in a rather similar manner, with a finger pointing, "He...He went that way," pointing towards and past the entrance of the alley. And she thinks, "He's fallen for this, hook line and sinker." And she waits for the boy to go, to make her laugh so hard. And considering what she'll do when he finds no aggressive kid to punch.

The sound of the boy's further softening footsteps were Ophelia's moment to move; and move she did. She stood, and brushed off the dust from her trousers that no one bothered to clear when it first got laid there. Somewhere in the distance, the sound of the footsteps died away into nothing more, and Ophelia quickly hid away round a corner, before the boy came back and called her out for bullshitting him. And then the shovel the boy was holding sounded like it was hit against something hard, and that's when Ophelia got a little bit concerned. What the hell did he just hit?

And at the sound of the approaching footsteps, and preparing for the onslaught that was to come, she got ready to to step out in front of him. And she steps out, and begins to open her mouth. "Before you start questioning me, what the hell did you hit? I wasn't attacked by anyone. Do you like to hit everything?!"
