Snow.

So much snow I can feel it soaking into the tight cuff of the turtleneck that was never meant to give full warmth.

These bastards knew were were supposed to freeze out here.

And with the snow turning to wet that pools in the fabric and then freezes as the wind bites at my cheeks, I wish I'd been braver. I wish I'd grabbed for a beanie or a scarf. Something. Anything!

But at least my hair is warm. Maybe I can cut my hair off and rope it into a scarf. But then would my head be cold?

Stories dance through my head like the wind-blown snow dances along the ground. The Snow Queen. Are the Hunger Games like the Troll Mirror? If I survive, will I only be able to see the ugly and the horrid in the world?

I can't think about that right now. I need to be focused on getting my breathing under control so it can be warmed in my nose instead of shooting straight to my lungs.

Where are Mystic, and Gaia and Bree?

Little huts made of ice are in my sight now. They looked like braille dots on a page before. Braille wouldn't help us, unless they were a message we could solve to escape.

(but the only escape is death in the snow)

But maybe they can tell me a story. Maybe they can tell me where the others are. Maybe they can tell me the secret to winning.

Too many maybes-- not enough warmth.

Where have they gone?

The fear of losing them was vial. Especially her, Bree, though I have known her for a very short time, she has left a mark on me.

A mark much more powerful then any bruise or scratch.

It was the mark of love, I don't know if I loved this girl, but I did know that I cared for her deeply.

The sound of my feet fumbling through the snow to find her, was still bouncing through my mind.

I wanted nothing more then to insure her safety, and if I didn't find her the way I did, then I'm not so sure I would be stable at this very moment.

When I felt my body pressed up against hers, I was shocked. I had come to the realization, that even though she was fine after that horrible event.

She still wasn't safe, and there was nothing I could do to change that.

Being incapable of changing a wrong to a right, made my stomach churn.

Bree and I had been walking for some time now. We had no evidence to lead us to our other companions. We were alone, well that is until we saw these igloos.

I saw the lean figure of a familiar face. Pixie was standing alone by these igloos.

We rush over to her, I great her with a hug. She wasn't the closest of friends, but she was here to help. And I was going to do anything in my power to make sure that she also was okay.

"Thank god, you doing alright?" I ask.

"We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different, and yet the same."

The time after the massive bloodbath was just a giant rush of feet as Bree ran away, away from the amount of death behind her, away from all the corpses that no doubt laid on the ground. Littering the previously perfect white snow red and the beating hearts of the tributes to stop. And then Bree stopped, and finally, she began to wish that she saw Mystic, and have her arms around Bree, have the protective arms of her around Bree's shoulders, and to calm her beating heart just a little. And then, she saw a figure heading towards her, and started slowly towards her, knowing the telling gait, it was Mystic! And then Bree runs again, towards Mystic, and held in an embrace. And Bree could survive again.

They walked together for a while, until tiny little cute shacks made of ice appeared, and a face that Bree thought she'd never see again. Pixie's. Another run later and then there were three together. The three girls hugged again, and Bree felt free. Until Gaia was back though, Bree didn't feel like they were safe. And then they waited.

I ran from the blood bath with nothing but a whip, at least I wasn't injured.A few died, I watch one girl fall to the ground as soon as she got a hit on her head. The arena was cold. Literally, it was coverd in ice and snow. If I didn't get killed off by a fellow tribute the cold might do the job for them. I needed to get something warm and quick. I really hope dad watched the bloodbath. I hope he saw me get out of there alive. I needed to show him if I go down, it won't be at the begging. The same message I needed to give the othrr tributes.

I arrived at an are with what almost seemed as houses. Only they were made out of snow. I saw three girls stamding in the distance and reconized them immediately."Bree, Pixie, Mystic" I called ou through the maze igloos spotting my friends.
