Today had started off like any other normal day in the life of me, Chautin Cartier. My daily routine commenced with training, and concluded with training, it was nothing new. It was fun at times though, if I had to admit it. No one would even have a simple thought race through their mind that I got the slightest thrill from heavily mangling others during evaluations with my own two hands. It was almost as thrilling as messing with the unsuspecting beings in my leisure.

Mohs Aurum.

To me, Mohs was the kind of boy I would describe as vulnerable. He's always been prone to my taunting and teasing throughout the various years of being in each others acquaintance. To me, it was always thrilling to irritate him, for some reason. I viewed it as the most simple base nature, predator to prey. This very morning, before training had began, I found the very special opportunity to get on his fragile nerves. I can recall faintly to him clicking the lock back onto his locker, then leaving to do who knows what. In the very moment I had memorized his locker combination, as I glanced over his shoulder right before he opened it. I was always one that had a good sense of memory, when it came to combinations and sorts. He hadn't noticed me behind him for the time being, perhaps because he was too focused on his precious diary that he laid in it's resting place at the bottom of his locker. Once he had decided to leave, it was cue to move in, and in doing so and infiltrating his privacy, I snatched several papers in his notebook, full of poetry written upon every line.

"Cartier!"

"Cartier, we gotta talk. Now."

Ripping through the tide of people that barricaded me, surrounding me like a barrier from forces like him. A blatant grin paints itself across my pristine canvas. I turned ever so slowly towards the boy, who seemed more than aggravated at me, but for who knows why? As he approached, the trainer tried to ease him down from doing anything hasty. An exchange of an icy gaze was well enough for him to dismiss me from class, which was a waste of training time that I could use for my benefit. Gesturing me to go along with the enraged boy, I cross my arms over my chest and follow his lead through the waves of people that smashed against us as we made our way through.


"Is there a reason you took me out of class? I can't be assed with pointless conversations.", my grin widens as the sarcasm spews past my lips from the tip of my tongue.

"Charming. I can feel my personality transform into a dull shade of grey when I talk to you."

Oh, burn? Are the meaningless words that are slipping off of his and towards my direction supposed to do something to me? There's no need for a comeback to such one that already makes him look foolish to begin with. My dead grandmother could come up with something more clever to insult me with than him. But I couldn't resist the forceful grin, because nonetheless at his attempts, they were what made him so innocent.

We traverse swiftly through the stations that are set up by each other. Passing by fire-starting and the camouflage, where I spent some amount of my time being. We finally reach the opposite, secluded side of the large center, where it seems as though every one neglects this station. First-Aid. Perhaps I never usually seen Mohs training, ever, due to the fact that with his injured leg, he was incapable of doing such a task. I suppose this was his territory, his little secluded area away from the others, where he could write his poetry freely.

Maneuvering my eyes, scanning the surroundings of desks and desks, and a shelf of books. I watch Mohs sit upon the table top of one of the desks, his face was held as stoic, however you could tell the frustration in his eyes that beat against my very being. In his valiant attempt to intimidate me, I could see clear past it, seeing as I'm not one to get intimidated very well.


"I'm not here to waste your time, and I sure as hell don't want to waste mine, so I'll say it- you know why I pulled you away."

"It's illegal to take someone's stuff, you do know that right? I've got private medical documents in there, and you just dug through them like it was nothing to you. You've got to stop doing it- next time, you'll dig through the wrong person's stuff and they'll take it up a notch higher."

Set back a bit by the lack of anger in his voice, I, myself, take to sitting upon a desk top. Choosing one parallel to where he was, so that we faced two and two. I crossed my legs and rested my elbow upon my thigh. Tilting my head to the side I responded with no words for a good amount of time. My grin remains upon my face, not daring to remove itself.

"You see, I couldn't give a rat's ass even if I tried about your situation at hand. But I think we're both on separate pages here, I haven't gone through any of your personal belongings. Why would you accuse me of such a treachery?"

"You should give a 'rat's ass', as you put it, so ladylike. I found ombre hair in my locker- it got caught in the hinges. You're the only one who has hair that length for one, not put up in a tie or anything."

The Cheshire grin feels like it's permanently etched into my immaculate cheeks. My grin twisted and knotted, and began to tingle, however I couldn't help it. I knew clearly that the words that I shot his way were getting on his very nerves, slipping through the surface of his pale flesh. It was as though the new found anger that was showcasing through his demeanor was coursing through his veins as well. I could see it clearly in his eyes, fighting back the urge from attempting to beat me to a pulp with his rich mahogany cane. This was amusing, and although I know he is more than furious, I couldn't help but not take it seriously.

"Could you just try to stay away from the boy's locker room, and out of my shit next time?"

"I could legally have you arrested for this."

Oh? Arrest me then, peacekeeper. I wasn't scared nor intimidated by his petty threats and words that he upchucked at me. The law was no new stranger to me, I've become close acquaintances with trouble, and it's followed me ever since. It all began with the case that opened several years ahead... I can recall very little, to almost nothing specific in detail whatsoever. All I remember is blacking out, and then being restrained down from off of the girl. That bitch. I wasn't one to lose my temper very fast that it would escalate to violence, and I tried to contain it all, but the beast got the best of me.

"Nice detective work, sir. I could let you in on a little something though, who would they believe? I mean your complaints every other time ended with failure, what makes you so sure that this will succeed?" His word meant nothing over mine. Seeing as I got out of the case with the girl, years ago, I could easily get out of a case that this boy could hold against me. My family is the owners of successful businesses, we have all the connections that one could only wish for.
