I was taught from the beginning to be a series what not to do. Father was a series of rules, and I was the blind worshiper. Father was not one to get angry, for just a word out of place and that would be the end of me and my sister. I learned to push everything down into a deep dark trench.

Winter

Born in ice

Anguish still echoing-

within the white walls

still, ever still-

my mother is

Born in snow

Flurries of shame-

buried in my fault

Her breath never reached-

my skin

never gave it color

Born in winter

Forever white

But forever tainted

Just like winter

They used to joke that I was snow, and then kick me to the ground and piss on me. My skin is so pale that I almost don't blame them.

Lost in Concrete

I once was lost
I suppose thats true for most
But I was lost in concrete
Trapped in a maze of streets
With heart in hand
And the desire to be grand
I had entered the concrete maze
With steel ablaze
And muscles flexed
I entered the maze perplexed

In this maze of concrete
The search for victory meant defeat
Because everyone was larger than life
And I was only good with a knife
At five foot nine
I was nothing but swine
The the beasts who walked my spine

I'm not the career my father wants, but I strive to be nonetheless. Whatever he looks for I want to be, no matter the cost. If I must lie and say I'm some one else to keep his love, I will not blink. And if I must cut myself to seem strong, then who am I to accept weakness?
