here's the pride before the fall

you know how time flies
only yesterday was the time of our lives

My eye sears in pain as I see the knife flying towards it, and then I don't see it at all. I scream in terror in pain, and my frail body falls to the ground, my muscles barely standing to keep me breathing from the torture I am in, but I must hold on longer. I need to, for Preston, for Paige, for Eva. I need to live for them. I remember when I was little I asked Preston:

"Why do people fight?"

I know the answer now. It is obvious. It is for fun. I had enjoyed the feeling of sending those taunting words, even though I hadn't known the big bad wolf was dead at the time. I had enjoyed the feeling of knowing I was fighting her in my special way. I cough as my body lays on the ground, and weakly I look up to my killers with my one good eye. "I guess the queen has been overthrown." I say in my quiet voice, my real voice. Not the bad Lily's voice, my voice. I know I was never the queen, really. It was all the bad Lily, and so she is gone for good now, but I guess so am I.

I cough out some blood, hot sticky and wet, and I wonder why could anyone enjoy seeing the grotesque sight of death. My good green eye, that I can tell is going to close soon as my mind gets more and more murky with blood of my eye, stares at my murderer. I take a heaving breath from the ground and say in a soft voice as I fade away torturingly slowly. "I guess I should leave a sucsessor." I let out a shakey laugh that turns into a fit of coughing.

I look and see the crown near me, and I wipe off the blood that I had only wrote with about thirty minutes ago, and I dip my finger into my blood, and dot little jewels on it for the new queen. My arms fall limply to the ground and I say to the girl and boy standing near me, "I dub thee Queen and King, I guess." I cough out some more blood, and I try to throw the Crown to the girl, but my arm falls loosely to the ground, and I whisper "Take the crown of the kingdom."

As I close my one eye, I think of my life as I feel a presence standing near me. I look up into the face of death standing nearby. I don't want to go home in a box, I want to spare my family the injustice of seeing me in makeup in a box. Maybe in the Capitol they could grant me the royal death of being burned to ashes.

"Goodbye Preston, Eva, Paige." I whisper, not caring anymore about the boy and girl standing nearby me, knowing there is a camera nearby, there has to be. "I will never see you again."

Then Lily Hope lets out her last breath, her frail body going limp against the hard ground, one tear hitting the ground from her good eye, and a cannon sounds.

Oh there are so many I can barely count it all, and I will try to get everyone in before I break down into tears over how much I have been helped by all you wonderful members and staff <3

You were an awesome mentor and because it felt like my first time in the games since Meghan had died first, you taught me the guidelines of the games. I am really happy over how much we discussed and I was sad that not all of our crazy plans for Lily went into action xD. Thank you so much <333

Then a special one for Aya(sorry Lulu if your reading this). I am really glad Elya and Lily had a chance to talk to each other even though they became enemies. I am really sad Elya died so early on, but she was amazing for Lily. Elya became the big bad wolf in Lily's eyes and because of her trying to be nice, Lily was terrified of her which inspired so much muse <3333

Arc and Matti-
You guys were always there supporting me these games and I am really sad that the moment we created the sponsoring club thing Lily died. I still think we should make pins though xD <33333333

Marr-
I was really sorry when my computer glitched and I didn't see your post from earlier in the volunteering, but when others got angry at me you stayed calm and said it was ok which made me feel a bit better. I am glad you did get a tribute and I am sad that Olivia died <3333

Kay and Cato-
Yes, we weren't ally's and yes, you did kill Lily, but you guys were awesome friends throughout the games. Kay you were an angel in sponsoring, really. If you hadn't done a lot of your sponsoring, Lily would have died from dehydration already. And don't feel bad about killing Lily. Lily was trying to make them angry and I actually thought something like this would have happened, but since lily had used all that first aid stuff I thought it would have been fine and I would have been able to flee after your first posts, guess not xD. You guys also made it so Lily can go in style, thank you <3333

Briar-
Thank you for supporting me through out this and for the table I was planning on using day 6, but I thought was so amazing, I used it for her death post <33333

I didn't realize that when people who had tributes die, it was really sad for them because they had grown attached to them. I never grew attached to Meghan so I never felt the chance to be sad like this, now I have an I know how everyone who had a tribute die in the games feels <3

	The knife had left her grip at a steady tilt, her fingers as sure upon the release as they had been on the flare's trigger. She watches it arch, watches it fall, even though she already knows it will find its pupil-sized target. Lily's scream is a forgone conclusion. It stirs no grief, no remorse, and no joy in Circe's empty chest. She puts her hand over Orion's on the hilt of his sword, lowering it. "It's done," she says quietly to Orion. She is neither surprised by his presence, nor by his silence. As she threads her fingers through his, she almost remembers... something. A memory. A feeling. At the edge of death they are the same and she has so little time to divide Orion confessing his love from a skipping heart beat. She isn't sure which of them takes the first step, but they are at Lily's side as she fades. There's no coins to place over her eyes, no Patriarch to say the last rites. There's just a soft crown and two stranger witnesses. Circe bows her matted golden hair to accept the offering, even as it sails by. "Go forth and be the light itself," Circe says, repeating the words to Lily she's heard so often. Her head is still bowed when she feels the tickleweight of feathers atop her head. The cannon booms as she rests her crowned head against Orion's chest, lingering in the presence of the death she's wrought.

	ORION HAMMERFELL
	My heart leaps inside my chest as a knife buzzed past my head. All I could do was stand and watch as it went straight into the eye of the tiny girl in front of me. She's screaming, and it breaks my heart hearing her scream. I want to do something to save her. To protect her. I'm a healer, not a killer, but all the healing in the world wouldn't save her. I know in the back of my mind. Tears form on the brim of my eyes as she coughs up blood. I try not to cry. I try not to do anything except stand there watching. She laughs, but it quickly turns into a violet coughing fit. Why does she have to suffer? Why did any of us have to walk through this? I volunteered because I wanted to die. Lily? "I guess I should leave a sucsessor." And I watch as she uses her blood to make a tiny feather crown into something more real. Something stronger. She was a fighter to make it this far. "I dub thee Queen and King, I guess. Take the crown of the kingdom." What do I do? "It's done." I finally lower the blade when Circe puts her hand over top of mine knocking it down. Her fingers connect with mine. I love Circe. I love her more than anything in the entire world right because she's all that I have. She's all that I care about. I cared about Elya, Nat, Gunner. Do I care about Lily? It's a question I can't answer. "Go forth and be the light itself." Reaching down, I pick up the tiny crown belonging to the tiny girl dying on the ground. As Circe bows down to take the crown, I place it on her head. In my heart, I always know the crown will represent the life of the little girl who died too soon along with every other tribute in the arena. Only one of us can make it out of this alive, and I'll do everything I can to make sure it's Circe, the queen. The deafening sound of the cannon booms through the arena, and I turn to Circe wrapping my arms around her holding her tight. I wish I could say something to her to make up for what has just happened, but no words could make up for what just happened. Releasing her from my grasps, I interlace my fingers with Circe's, and I walk away from the tiny girl on the ground leading the love of my life behind me. Rest in peace, Lily. Rest in peace. For I shall die in agony.
