Kirito Miristioma

Plumes of smoke rose higher and higher into the electric lit sky as darkness swarmed over the light of day. Bolt after bolt of intense lightning raced towards the arena's surface as winds spit against Kiris blood soaked cheeks. Embers floated through the air like butterflies during the summers back in district eleven. Canons fired relentlessly through the chaotic air as Kiri grunted step after grueling step. His sweat mixing with the blood baked to his skin as he panted from the weight of the dead girl on his shoulder.

Far above Kiri's head the clock tower stood beaming with light as its hands continued to mechanically click. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. A never ending reminder of how utterly trapped all the souls in the arena were. How time would never cease as they continued to spill more and more blood. As canon after canon destroyed yet another life like they were all just petty toys to the Capitol. Even Kiri was beginning to feel rage boiling up inside him towards the idiots that followed President Snow. Still Kiri knew it didn't matter, all that mattered now was purely survival.

Even though Kiri believed he had covered plenty of distance from the other blood spillers he just faced he continued to trek on ward as another delayed canon boomed through his ripped away ears. For some reason his mind instantly raced to the thought of Circe. Was she still alive? Was she living up to her fierce Lyon career name? Or was she already reunited with Jamie as they kissed far above the celestial ceiling the false stars portrayed? Maybe perhaps she missed him like he missed her. Either way Kiri knew he couldn't focus on her for too long. With eight tributes left alive including himself he could only look out for himself.

Kiri let out a moan as he finally stopped and let Imp slide gently to the ground. Shockingly the girl wasn't as dead as Kiri had anticipated from the milky eyes that still partially gazed towards him. For once in Kiri's time alive he didn't know what to do. He was always better at killing those who turned against him, not sending those off who fell beside him. Part of him wondered if he should just stab her himself and put the girl out of her misery but for some odd reason he would feel wrong doing that. However, what could he do?

Let me handle it. A voice Kiri knew all to well whispered from deep within the chasms of his dark prison. Fear actually stretched over Kiri's face at the thought that Kirito was still alive. For two days now Kiri was sure Kirito was gone. Killed with Rhyme and utterly lost at the moment he was abandoned, but here he was once again begging for control to ship Imp away. No. Kiri would not give Kirito control but he would do what he suggested just this once. 

Okay then Kirito what do you want me to do? Softly the whisper returned in response and Kiri followed Kirito's weak orders. As much as Kirito wanted to believe he was still fighting Kiri could tell he wasn't. The boy sounded so weak and powerless that Kiri could burn his light out with just a simple flick of his wrist. Yet for now he would just focus on the task at hand, Imp.

Gently Kiri took the girl's belt buckle and added it to his own. Only then did Kiri actually see what made Kirito cringe from within. Four belt buckles now shone softly in the lightning's light. District One. District Two. District Eight. District Eleven. Kiri was the last one fighting for them. Above all belief "Kirito" had been the one out of them all to make it this far. Even Kiri wondered at points if Kirito's body would hold strong, and now it appeared to be so. Still even Kiri could feel the loneliness that kissed at the silence of his ears.

With a deep breath Kiri forced Kirito's emotions down as he searched the area around them. With a diminished grin Kiri gathered up some wood he found nearby and forced them under the now canon officially dead Imp. As carefully as he could Kiri made her hair look nice and crossed her hands against her frozen chest. Only then did Kiri stand up and look at the "sleeping" girl by his feet.

Do it. Kirito whispered in a voice full of sobs. With a nod Kiri pulled out one of his two remaining matched and lit the flame. Then Kiri flicked the burning match onto the wood and watched as the flames devoured Imp. Although terrible the fire actually seemed to burn brighter than any Kiri had ever seen before in the pits from which he came. A broken smile bent across Kiri's face as his hollow words slipped through his cracked lips. "Ya really are a shinin' star Imp Stole."

Slowly Kiri lifted his gaze up to the inciting sky as he watched her plume join those created by the trains. He saw her embers begin to dance with the others and that was when he truly knew he was alone.
