Light at the end of the tunnel {arc}

Darkness swept throughout the area. Eerie chills ran rampant throughout his entire body. Panic took control of his racing mind the moment they arrived at the justice center. This was only the beginning especially when a ruthless peacekeeper took over. Kit was gone, but the words he spoke lingered in the back of Odysseus' mind. Sweat poured from his brow saturating the neck of his shirt. His eyes scanned the area looking for any sign of hope. It was here a couple weeks ago he demolished the jaw of a peacekeeper out of agony. Pain consumed him as tears threatened to fall down his face. Each breath caught in the back of his throat making it almost impossible to breath. His heart pounded against the inside of his chest walls. Each beat blasted through his skull like a tiny person was striking a mallet against the bones over and over.

His future was planned for him, and no matter what happened, Odysseus couldn't change it. Brutal, harsh, inhumane punishments awaited him. Every hair stood on end as iron hands jerked him around leading him away. Harsh words buzzed through his ears, yet he kept his cool. Every word felt like a dagger was driving straight through him. His muscles shook rapidly. Orion, please help me. Please. I need you. Please help me. It became impossible to find another reason for the career to continue on. His mind focused on the words of wisdom the arresting officer offered. Odysseus had to make Orion proud. Even if they never saw each other again, the life he lived at this moment would last forever. People were watching. Eyes were fixed on him, and the world felt foreign. Yet it spun without ceasing.

They shoved him inside a vehicle and drove away.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The world was silence except the deafening sound of his heart racing inside his chest. Sweat pooled on the palms of his hands. His eyes were wide as he was forced inside the small building with peacekeepers surrounding him. Chills crept up his spine. Every step echoed throughout the hallways. He swore he could hear people screaming in the distance. It was worse than he imagined as peacekeepers greeted him with wicked grins. Their newest criminal arrived. A giant. Odysseus kept a straight face trying to hide the amount of fear lurking inside. Swallowing heavily, he kept moving. Step by step. Breath by breath. Every movement brought a new worry to his mind. The rumors he heard stayed in his mind. Dim lights filled the halls. His shadow shrunk away to almost nothing. I'm so fucking scared.

His hands shook by his side as he was led up a flight of stairs. Frantically, he looked around trying to find a place to focus on. Something to drown out the fear trying to force its way out into the open. Running away now wasn't an option. He couldn't escape. Even if he tried, he imagined a bullet to the head would stop him dead in his tracks. Would they shoot a man? What reason would they have when they had the option to destroy the man in every single way possible? Taking a deep breath, he forced every thought away. I can do this. I can do this. For Orion and Mason. Keeping his eyes focused on the tiled floor, Odysseus tried to remove every single emotion. His pupils dilated in fear. I'm going to die. They're going to kill me. Please Orion help me. Please.

Boots clanked against the other as the peacekeepers stopped moving. Keys jangled in the hand of the peacekeeper as he turned to the cell. It looked extremely cramped. What did he expect? The lock clicked as the key turned inside the hole. The door flung open, and the peacekeepers shoved him inside. Stumbling forward, he found himself face down on the floor. Blood gushed from his nose, yet he didn't move. Not even as the restraints were removed. The floor was cold against his face. Tears swam down his cheeks falling onto the ground forming a puddle in front of him. The door slammed shut behind him, and it was then he moved. Retreating to a corner, Odysseus placed his back against the wall. His eyes fixed on the bars holding the animal inside. Bringing his knees to his chest, he rested his chin on top them. He was alone. Trapped in a cage awaiting punishment.
