Such an incredibly expansive world settled itself into one minuscule room that lay before the boy caught far too deep into his mind. He lived a reality far larger than any physical one, often ignoring what existed past his eyes to remain in the safety of his brain. And yet Leo had no choice but to embrace the life he was offered since having his name pulled from the glass ball upon the Reaping stage. He had to exit his mind and to step out from his comfort zone. What a large step it has become.

Faces passed by as he looked throughout the sea of bodies. Every person was dead, yet still filled with a liveliness unrivaled by any other. We are the deceased who continue to walk. Our lives are nearing their end as every second ticks by. It's horrifically poetic. A brain worked at full efficiency as eyes passed across every young boy and girl within the room. Like an inventory list being kept internally, Leo noted any sort of interesting feature for every face he could find.

With a sure hand he took a sizable loaf of bread from where the food was kept, wrapping it with a serviette to fit with the elegance that the Capitol seemed to portray. Elegantly savage. It's an interesting combination. A spot caught the boy's eyes as being, measurably, more-or-less in between two others who had previously sat. The comfort zone of his mind remained, though he fought to separate from it whilst in that moment. With one step, he found himself nowhere closer to leaving his personal space. This won't be as easy as it looks. Just take the step. You don't have very long left to do so. And so he took it. With a voice directed at those in the vicinity, he spoke.

"Mind if I take this seat?"

Okay. Leo, it's quite simple. Everything is exactly the same. You don't have to worry. You don't have to be nervous. It's like dealing with any sort of measurement - you do it carefully.

For the first time in Leo's life, he found himself surrounded by women. And yet it was not the fact that he was surrounded by people that bothered him; it wasn't that he was surrounded by women that made him frightened. At the end of the day it was the fact that each and every one of them could, without much difficulty, kill him in the near future. Or I might kill them. It was a horrific thought that popped up in his mind, though he was sure it wouldn't be a rare one as the days continued to pass.

Eyes glanced around at those around him. They first landed upon the youngest looking girl, the one from Eight. He could remember that she had looked far more like a child than the others, but he found himself unable to recall her name. You will be Quark, little one. A grin stretched slightly across his lips at the nickname, his eyes moving to the next one. Six. She was from the District that he wished so desperately to have been born in. Whilst Three meant he could embrace his passion of knowledge, Six was far more science-oriented. Snell. Named after the creator of one of the most important theories in optics. And then his eyes turned to the final girl who stood amongst the dining hall. I know you. She was his District partner, and yet she was the one he remembered the least about. Schrödinger. I can only observe you as you affect others.

"Um, sure. The seats aren't reserved or anything I think." He took it in, turned it around in his mind, played with it a little and then worked to formulate an answer. His brain worked as he looked forward at those around him, seeing potential in each of them. And so he spoke confidently in that moment, hoping to utilize kinetic energy from all the potential. Step from the comfort zone. Step out. "I have to say that this food is the best part of all of this. I can't get enough of it."
