None of them were worth his time. Well no, that wasn't quite true. There were a select few that had caught his interest - a few that he had selected himself. The handful of others that were before him, wildly waving weapons around in hopes that they might magically master them were interminably boring. One such waste was the girl from District eight. If he ever didn't want to bother learning a name, hers would be the one. She had absolutely no talent, no tact, and nothing to catch his interest in any way. He didn't even use the energy to scoff as the practice dummy fell on top of her.

His palms were itching, not in a way that indicated irritation of the flesh but irritation of the mind. He needed to do something, preferably a violent something, and yet he was never once "allowed" by the Gamemakers and their rules. If that girl was a waste of his time - and she surely was - then lowering himself to attack a fake being would be the next worst thing. Still, the itch remained and he knew he would have to ease his boredom soon. There was no one to hand that might aid him in other ways, so he would simply have to cause destruction.

The sword was not unfamiliar in his hand, though he had always preferred knives due to how much more personal the attack felt when he had to be right in close. Knives were also much easier to conceal than the overly large swords, and still just as deadly. He never bothered with preamble and instead of taking a couple practice swishes like most would have, he simply went straight into the kill. Blade bit into shoulder, tearing flesh and splitting bone. When he withdrew the weapon, the arm flopped loosely against the dummy's side. Fake, it was so fake, but the movement eased the itching some. Frustration at the unreality of the blood and wounds was overshadowed by his ultimate need to break and scatter and rip.

A quick forward thrust into the space where arm meets shoulder and the synthetic arm dropped to the floor, red falsity oozing from the sheered end. Let the girl watch, maybe she could see how it's done.
