Marnie Blackmore | District 2 | FIN

Being hidden in the shadows of those more superior is hard for anyone, especially Marnie Blackmore. Having to be one of the youngest members of one of the most influential families in District Two, it is hard to stand out from the rest of the family but it doesn’t stop Marnie from trying. Fighting hard to be noticed, there is no obstacle that will throw her out of place. Being such a small girl with such a strong head, there seems to be nothing that will stop the little girl. Earning her place in the family, she’d rather stay put in that position or fight harder to be on top.

Living the life of luxury, the wealth of her family reflects well on her appearance. Draped in the finest clothes that the District offers, Marnie takes advantage of the gold floating around her. Cascading to her waist, is her brown straight locks that are her masterpiece. Forever grooming her hair, taking care of her appearance is one of her greatest pass times. She can’t look ridiculous in front of everyone, especially strangers. Reflecting the colour of her hair, are her brown iris’. She wishes she could change the colour of them however, maybe a brighter blue that will stand out more on her face. Marnie finds brown to be dull and far too common.

Reaching just 4ft and 8 inches tall, there is still a lot of growing left for Marnie. She takes advantage of her height for now, always snapping at the heels of her older family members as well as slipping away from their reach. Having a slender figure, there is still a lot of time for the training to reflect on her figure. She cannot wait for the day when she looks in the mirror and see’s six toned abdominal muscles. But for now she must put up with a plain flat stomach.

Besides wanting to change the colour of her eyes, there is another thing on her face which she wishes to eradicate, her dimples. Whenever she smiles, her bright grin is always tarnished by the wrinkles in her cheeks. This has caused her to smile less and less and now rarely shows off her bright ivories. Marnie dreams of the day that she can somehow wipe away the annoying creases on her cheeks and forehead. She just wants a smooth complexion and wants nothing to hold back the smile that many had grown to love over the years.

Having to fight for recognition over the years, Marnie has grown very head strong. Being determined to reach any goal she has set herself, there is nothing that will stop her from achieving her dreams. Energy runs through her veins and she is always on the move, may it be through action or through sound, Marnie likes to tell everyone that she has arrived. Speaking very loudly in conversation, she seems to lack a volume button on her speech and many wish that they could mute her from time to time. However whenever she is displeased, her raised voice becomes more of a rawr than a typical shout.

Picking on people is another pass time for Marnie. Disregarding anyone’s feelings, she doesn’t seem to see the mental damage she causes on people that she torments. Through her short years of training, she has lost all the childish morality that once resided inside of her. Whenever she does bully someone, may it be teasing them or throwing their face in the dirt; she feels superior. After all she is trying to bigger herself from amongst her family. Gaining a reputation will help her achieve that and if it has to be causing misery to others, then she will just have to do it.

Born to be a dictator, she is the little puppeteer in her family, having strings attached to them all as well as others outside of the family. Taking control and manipulating the minds of everyone, the little devil trademark that sits on her forehead seems to suit her well.

Lacking charity for any of those less fortunate than her, wealth and recognition has quickly gone to the young girls head. When approached by people less fortunate than herself, she likes to turn up her nose and doesn't give a damn about anyone’s problems. Sitting on the throne, with a plate full of food there is nowhere else that she would rather be.

Born to be one of the youngest in one of the most recognisable families in District Two, it was expected for Marnie to live up to their name. As an infant, Marnie lived in the world of fairy tales and did all the typical childish stuff. Being the youngest, she was always in the arms of her family members or those visiting. Spoiled with everything that she demanded Marnie seemed to get her own way all the time and never had to throw a tantrum or blackmail someone. Keeping up to date with all the latest toys that the District could offer, she used to love rubbing it in others faces. She usually went to the streets of the District to find those close to her age, just so she could show off her new toys.

Schooling seemed to be a breeze for Marnie, astonishingly she seemed to have great intelligence as she stood out from her class; she took this all to her head. Forever being proud of her knowledge, she loved to rub her high intellect in the faces of those dumber than herself. Having a brain is one of her key features and she uses it well in her little deeds.

Following her family into the training centre, she seemed to settle in well. Taking to all the sessions, she was determined to be one of the greatest kids in the centre. Wanting to live up to the legacy that her mother had left on the family before she was thrown into the detention centre, Marnie wants to make her mother proud. Her only dream is to be better than all her family, she has no passion to be in the games but just to be far superior than everyone around her.

Marnie believes that she is far too great to ever be reaped so never worries about it. She thinks she is invisible and that she will never have to worry about things like that. She just wants to be on top of the world, sat on her throne with all the strings she has attached in her hand.
