In the midst of their travels, several pairs of tributes will find themselves mesmerized by a trail of soft glowing lights that dot the landscape. They will feel compelled to follow these in pairs away from their full group. In the morning, they have no recollection of their journey, only the lights. When they attempt to remember the exact events of the previous night, they come up with nothing but a sense of calm.
