Hamlet || District One || FIN

Torn away so suddenly from the man he looked up too, it was hard for Hamlet to mourn the loss of his father due to him being replaced so quickly. How was he possibly able to remind himself of memories with his father when another man had already taken his place?

A mother too stuck with lust. A father taken too soon and a man he is forced to call father, marching around the house in his dad’s boots. How could such a bitter boy cope with it all?

Years of practice in the training centre has helped Hamlet obtain the typical ’career appearance,' perfectly chiselled muscles are dotted across his body. The odd bruise and scratch leave a temporary tattoo of his scuffles in the centre as well as out on the streets. Rising to above six feet and five inches, Hamlet is relatively tall, helping him have the upper advantage in the centre. Although due to his built muscle structure, Hamlet isn’t at all ’lanky and long’ despite his height.

Painted brown, Hamlet inherited the colour of his iris’ from his father, a regular reminder that he is a spitting-image of his dad. Short black locks sit on his temple, rarely ever touched. Only on the odd occasion does he ever comb it however he does maintain its length, having it relatively short all the time. Growing up in one of the wealthiest, be it the wealthiest District, Hamlet was fortunate enough to have desired attire given whenever he needed it. Tending to wear leather jackets and dark trousers, Hamlet does not have what is considered a ’brilliant fashion sense,’ as he is the type who wears the same outfit over and over.

Slightly obscured, Hamlet’s vision is not one hundred percent. Being short-sighted, Hamlet is unable to see in the distance very well. He never bothered to get it corrected as it didn’t affect him much as a child. However it gave him a disadvantage with long-ranged weapons in the training centre. So he tends to train in hand-to-hand or subjects that are close to his face.

Drowned with sorrow of his deceased father, the smile that once called home on his face has been wiped clean. Post-events of his father’s death added to this trait of melancholy. Surrounding him forever, sadness seems to be the only trait guiding him anywhere and it seems any bright emotion is nowhere in sight to pull him from the pit of despair. Disregarding anyone’s concerns, Hamlet now only tends to do things which favour him. Being motivated only by his own self-interests, the few that surround him are invisible. Hamlet is trying to dig himself out of the pensive pit and this means tossing out the dirt in his life.

Ravaged with thoughts, Hamlet spends most of his time in his head. It seems the only person that understands him, is the little voice in his brain. Many a time he speaks to this voice out loud, in front of the mirror, usually well away from the people in his home. He knows that if anyone discovers his self-talking, they would believe him to be mad. Reflecting on his own past, Hamlet tries to piece together what went wrong during key times of his history. Most of the things that he reflects is the sadness that swarms his mind, which is why he is stuck in the loop of despair. He is just too thoughtful.

Disgusted by his mother’s betrayal of her husband, his father, Hamlet has grown a great distrust of women. Since his mother married his uncle, he can never see himself marrying a woman or at least getting involved with one. Being asexual, this hasn’t thrown much of an obstacle in front of him however he does get the odd feeling that he quickly knocks over the head with.

Despite being lost in thought most of the time, Hamlet is still prone to rash and impulsive acts. Being lost in disgust and rage, Hamlet can go forwards with something without clearly thinking through the consequences. As soon as he is totally out of his reflective mind, it is as if he is unable to control himself and something else has strings attached to him. He mainly blames this on his uncle.

Born to be the only child to Hamlet Sr and Gertrude, Hamlet Jr was guaranteed an easy start in life. Blessed to be growing up in one of the best Districts, Hamlet had everything handed to him on a plate. Having parents both with steady careers in jewellery and perfume, Hamlet never knew anything about being poor. Offered the opportunity to enter the training centre, Hamlet accepted it. His father had trained as a teenager but seeing as there was nothing he could really do with his skills, he decided to become a jeweller. Meeting his wife Gertrude because of this profession, the young couple quickly fell for each other.

Training absorbed his life. Hamlet had ambitions to push his body to its full capacity. He didn’t at all fancy stepping into the games, being too realistic, he knew he wouldn’t stand a chance even with his training. Really, he just did the training to make himself feel good. Everyone had eyes on him in the centre and he quickly relished in all of this attention. Girls and boys swooning at his heels, there was nothing he more that he wanted to do with his life. Perfect parents, perfect friends…but one summer night when he was 16 would change that.

Having many orders, Hamlet’s father spent the night in the jewellers shop finishing off work, however he was not to return. Peacekeepers found him lifeless, laid on his work bench. It was later found out that he had poison poured into his ear although the culprit was never found. Hamlet held a great bond with his father and his sudden death made everything collapse around him. But post-events from the death made matters even worse.

Just one month from her husband’s passing, Hamlet’s mother quickly married again; to Hamlet’s uncle Claudius. Hamlet had never liked his uncle but when he found out his mother married him in secrecy, it made a lot of wires snap in his brain. Distrusting his mother, he could not stand looking at her ever again. Since the secret marriage, Hamlet has locked himself away from his mother and uncle. Fury has wiped away the smile that he once possessed on his face. His many followers in the centre have dwindled in size. Unable to properly mourn the loss of his father, sadness has taken the strings of Hamlet, controlling his every move.

Nothing seems to be able to break the misery cloud that follows him daily. Lost in his mind, it is as if he is unaware of the world around him. Hamlet now tends to have moments where he lashes out at people, being quite aggressive (another reason why he has lost friends.) One day he will face the wrong person; he needs to pull himself together quick before he is pierced with the blade of poison.
