From the ashes a Phoenix is born {Ikaia one shot}

A fire burns inside him. Snarling, Ikaia turned away from the justice building as the peacekeepers pulled him away. A storm was brewing, and Ikaia wasn't going to let it hold him back. A straight face cleared of emotion shown brightly in the air as every step he took matched the thundering beats of his heart. His hands balled tightly into fists as the world spun around him throwing his body around. Tidal waves of emotions slammed deep into the pits of his stomach. Broken bones and hollow dreams etched through his mind. Glares from foolish people standing along the crowd at the departing from the reaping chanting happily amongst themselves as their freedom had been secured once and for all. Fire raged through his body burning him from the inside out. His eyes saw fire, death, and destruction. A path created the moment Kirito was reaped for the games just two years ago. A bond forged in stone shattered in half. Broken dreams crashed down around him. One after another after another until the light at the end of the tunnel at slowly appeared in front of him, but now the light was gone. Blown away trapped by a road block forming above him.

A half smirk twisted across his face as he shoved innocent children out of his way. Their cries for help rang through his mind, and for the first time in his entire life Ikaia didn't feel like stopping. A hand wrapped around him turning him away. Automatically he raised his hands in the air knocking the kid away. "Do you have a fucking problem? Just leave me the fuck alone because right now I don't give a damn about you or anyone here." He hissed through gritted teeth before heading back down the trail placed in front of him. Many thoughts ran through his mind over and over forcing violent screams of his brother fighting along in his own games locked in his ears. Death awaited him, and he defeated the odds, but he wasn't out of the water yet. A noose wrapped around Ikaia's neck. His lungs begged for the much needed oxygen as his eyes scanned through the world begging for a place to go. Innocent shattered inside of him; the Capitol had gone too far. Taking his twin to the game as they chanted for his death was crossing the line, but forcing Kirito to watch Iain stand in his place was the same as decapitating someone with a dull blade. Sawing away at the neck. Allowing the person to be filled with pain until nothing remained except the blood spurting from the headless man lying in front of him.

The devil himself stepped out of the gates of hell wrapped his flaming whip around district eleven pulling them slowly through the gates of hell. A tornado of emotions swarmed through the districts and Ikaia was trapped within. Away from his twin who he needed the most. Locked behind a closed door as the devil stared him in the face smirking about the misery the nation has placed him through. Iain, so sweet and innocent. Carrita, so young and tiny. None of them deserve the fate that's been placed before them. His eyes stained red as he stared into the distance cutting through the trees until the front door of his house was finally in front of him. Memories of a world held together with love and the will to survive had been replaced by memories of pain and agony. Memories of snuggling under the covers with his twin while the cold ate through the house. Memories of the moments locked together when Pa died in the terrible harvesting accident. Memories of holding Ma in the floor as Kirito fought in the game. Memories of hiding under the covers bawling his eyes out praying for a way to restore the broken bond cracking away under the pressure of the games.

Glass smashes against the floor shattering into thousands of shards. A broken piece for every piece the Capitol broke from him. Another glass set loosely in his hand before raising it to his mouth taking a swig from it, but soon after he dumped the wine on the ground before slamming the bottle onto the floor. Shards flew in every direction, and Ikaia found himself running through the kitchen knocking every glass he bought with his own money off the shelves. Shattering them against the floor over and over and violent shrieks of agony erupted from somewhere deep inside. His hands shook at his side, yet it never stopped him from balling them into a fist pounding them against the glass on the floor. Tiny shards slit his knuckles open. Blood trickled down his hand. Ikaia cackled while rubbing his hands together before pulling the tiny shards from his skin. His eyes flickered around the room as a fire raged inside his body. A flaming whip wrapped around his soul pulling him further and further away from the truth sitting in front of him. He froze. Sitting on the stove was a box of matches and fire wood that he spent the last summer gathering for the winter months. Step by step he marched towards until the matches was firmly in his grasp. He pondered what to do. His mind raced frantically, and the sounds of his broken heart thundering inside his chest blocked out every single sound possible. Only one answer stayed in front of his mind. All Ikaia could do was destroy the life he knew as a new being formed from the ashes.

A devilish grin twists across his face spreading from ear to ear. The Capitol released a beast inside him tearing through his soul changing the young teen into a bull charging full force at the Capitol prepared to destroy anyone who stepped in his path. Frail finger wrapped around a match removing it from the box. The world stood still and the howls of the beast echoed through his ears. Ikaia struck the match and stared at the flame slowly growing larger and larger. All he had to do was throw it. To destroy the one thing he world for because the Capitol was destroying him piece by piece, but before he tossed the match to the ground a thought blared full force through his mind. Why destroy what's mine when I can destroy what belongs to them?
