     Little Laura Verre is the one of the smaller and cuter of her two families. This is said due to her small figure of which never seems to be too skinny nor too heavy. She is what some may call the perfect size. Many often wonder how she keeps her physique - some ask while other spread rumors of her stealing food and keeping it for herself and her family. When asked, she mentions that she doesn’t understand what they’re talking about. Which leads people’s suspicions to grow, but that never stopped Laura.

     Instead, Laura would smile and laugh. Her eyes would twinkle with that small light of joy and happiness that so many lacked. When outside, she would never let her head slump down nor would a frown appear on her face. It was that little crinkle of her nose when she laughed and snorted or that soft little hiccup echoing around the room that made people laugh. It was almost infectious to a point. It was one of those traits that people appreciate.

     But it wasn’t always her smile and laugh that brought people to like Laura - before it all when she was quiet, timid, and rarely smiled, she caught people’s attentions with her long red hair and freckles. Some of her mother’s friends called her the look of pure innocence. Her father even said that he loved her more than her mother. Somehow that ended up to be true.

     Her baby blue eyes would shed tears when her mother - Ashlynn found her father - Viktor cheating on her with another woman named Perriwinkle. For that day, little Laura felt the sadness of the world and she hid behind her locks - turning her head away from what she felt was the autrosities of marriage and love. She told herself that she wouldn’t love or marry or have kids. She was a strong independent girl who could hold herself up. She wouldn’t hurt anyone over love and she would try to help those who were heart in any way or form.

     To this day, she still acts like that. A little shy at first, but once you get to know her… She’ll bloom right before your eyes into a talkative little thing. She’ll focus on her attention on those specific points and work her way through it all. She’ll work on something until she’s sure that she’s learned everything about it - this mainly applies to her life and personal interests, but it also applies to facts and school work as well as long as it sparks her interest of some sort - which is more often than not.

     With Laura’s skills of observation - it comes to say that she likes to think that she know what is best for people. It’s easy to see that sometimes it helps and other times it doesn’t. She can make a situation more messed up than it really is. For example, she sometimes speaks her opinion and the truth a little too loudly. She means well, but believes that if a person is doing something wrong that they should simply outright admit it rather than beating around the bush.

     In the lines of beating around the bush, Laura doesn’t take to secrets too awfully well either. With her opinionated view, observation skills, and occasional loudmouth - sometimes secrets are spilled or lines are crossed in terms of telling someone something that they weren’t supposed to know.

     However, Laura in all reality is a fragile soul. So, if that person were to get too angry at her about something. She tends to cower down and obey. She tries her hardest to stand up for herself but usually she ends up losing her own confidence and simply clams up. So, for those who see through the facade of a generally happy people then she will put higher than others and back away from. Overall, Laura will hide this side of her as often as she can and is quite frankly - ashamed of it.

     On occasion, she will find a person she feels comfortable with who is stronger or in a higher position with. But typically, that isn’t the case. In her family, she is the middle child. When she visits her mother, she lives with her mother, her grandmother Autumn, her grandfather Lawrence, and her two younger sisters Merle and Agathe. And when she visits her dad, she lives with her grandfather Ian, her father, his soon to be wife and her older brother Curio and her older sister Margaret. Laura is one of the few children who go back and forth between her parents. The only other sibling doing so is her younger brother Gard.

     Between her 3 grandparents, mother, father, step-mother, 2 older siblings, and 3 younger siblings; Laura is what she would consider stuck as the middle child. She will be bullied and hurt from by her older siblings but has that strong need to protect her younger siblings as well. She’ll do whatever she can to give anyone younger or even older than her the best chance at life. Despite how emotionally or physically beaten up she will get.

     This is what spurns on her fascination with the Hunger Games. Ever since she was young, she would watch them with her father - much to her mother’s dislike. However, as long as her father shut it off when she said to and covered her eyes when things got too much - Laura was allowed to watch it. The Hunger Games were what built up that desire and urge to push forward. They showed her that sometimes even in the darkest of times, people can survive, but 23 times out of 24 people will die.

     It was from Laura’s grandparents that she learned about all the Victors and even to a certain point grew infatuated with learning about the Games. She knew that it felt wrong, and it hurt her to see so many people die - especially those from her own district. But it drove her to push herself to survive and live - for her family and friends.

     Not to mention with District 11 winning the 69th, 70th, and 71st games. All of the extra rations that came with it all. All of that pushed her harder to work for her family - so not only was she working with her mother in the herb garden, she was working with her father in loading up herbs and food to go to the Capitol. There were a few times that she had considered hiding away, but once in the Capitol she knew that it was useless - with her outfit and appearance, she stuck out like a sore thumb. Besides, she had promised Gard that she wouldn’t leave him. She intended to keep that promise - for better or for worse.
