It wasn’t like he meant to smoke a joint in the training center, it’s just that his withdrawal was getting increasingly worse, and he needed to satisfy it’s needs. The downside to the green drug was the munchies, they hit hard and his stomach felt like it would collapse in on itself. His feet moved swiftly to the elevator that took him to the main area of the training center, where the dining area, kitchen, and training areas were. Empty, that’s what most of the place was, no one in sight, but Minos Vallanso and his hunger that was going to be satisfied.

The kitchen seemed to have been empty, nothing but clean items lay upon the counters, avoxes and workers clearly gone from their day of work. Food was just a little bit away and Minos’ stomach growled louder, he should have had a bigger lunch than he did. A sign of life showed from across the room. Minos’ eyes stared at the boy who was clearly there for the same reason he was, midnight munchies. His lips parted, words drifting along the air, “Hey man, got the munchies?” His typical smirk appears out of the hazy feeling he had.

Minos watched the guy quietly, waiting for a reaction. The silence was killer in the area, as for most of the tributes were sleeping or at least trying to sleep. The guy’s dark hair and eyes shone beautifully in the night, almost like they were calling for him, but Minos had other priorities, though, a nice looking guy to eat food with him sounded like a lovely idea. Minos smiled and let his words flow freely, “Let me help you, we can get twice as much food and share it in one of our rooms? Sound good?” A high, good looking guy, and food, it was almost as good as it could get. Food being the best part of it all.

He waited for silence to settle in his quarters. The escort disappeared, Natalie was somewhere he wouldn’t have to worry about her, and the Avoxes had been dismissed. Everything was quiet. He shuffled out of his training outfit and into something loose and comfortable. Sneaking around this place was a pain in the ass, but it was worth every held breath and every hour spent waiting. The Capitol tried to pretend that this room and all its luxury were enough to entertain him, but he could only stare at the wall screens for so long. Too much time alone meant too much time spent thinking about inevitable doom. The best distraction was getting the hell out of here.

The plan was simple: take the stairs to avoid detection, raid the kitchen, and eat as much junk as he could handle. Not enough to make him nauseous, but he wanted a full stomach. He needed to pack in as much spare energy as possible because tributes burned through it easily. There was no predicting when his next meal would be - perhaps five days after the Games started if he lasted that long. It wouldn’t be much of a meal either, just a snack. A plant or two, and he knew how those tasted. Leaves and stems were not his cup of tea.

As he blended with the shadows and tip-toed into an empty kitchen, he noted where the desserts were stored. He turned one of the single, smaller lights on for dim illumination and began searching through everything. He was in the process of grabbing the first cookie when he heard something shift behind him, and tensed in response. ”Hey man, got the munchies?” He turned and found a smirking face. He couldn’t remember the guy’s name for the life of him. ”Not exactly,” he said, raising an eyebrow.

Then he suggested a little snack session in one of their rooms. He supposed they would be less likely to get caught if they were in hiding, but he barely knew this guy.

Yeah, like he’s gonna kill me tonight.

”Sure, why not.” He shrugged. There wasn’t much to lose at this point.
