The streets of Four are busy with crowds of people making their way home after a long day at work.

Maybe they rush to see their families or be on time for a date, who knows?

Who even cares?

Me on the other hand, I’m making my way in the opposite direction of the crowd, trying to reach the area most of them probably just left. I begin to rush banging into people left and right, dodging elbows as I go, probably stepping on few feet as well. The glares of angry people follow me through the crowd, most of them probably know who I am too. Everyone knows the Stell’s. If I cared enough to look back I’d see plenty of disappointed faces and some would probably be rattling off a lecture even though they know that I won’t pay attention anyway.

A smile spreads across my face as I finally push past the crowd and my bare feet land on the white, hot sand of the beach. I go and climb up the usual overhang of rocks I normally sit on and watch nature take its course. The beautiful rays of the sunset illuminate the sky, filling it with vibrant shades of pink, orange, and yellow. The waves below and birds flying through the sky make the scene almost picturesque. A small sigh escapes my lips because for this one moment a day I actually feel happy, this one small moment absorbing all of nature’s beauty makes me smile.

And that is extremely hard to come by.

I’m sure to any person passing by this scene would look entirely normal. A normal girl sitting on a pile of normal rocks watching a normal sunset.

But I am anything but normal.

The people laughing in the streets, their footsteps even the lectures they give me have no sound. The waves crashing below my feet and the birds soaring through the sky are silent. Ten whole years everything has been silent. The only thing I ever hear is the sound of my own thoughts bouncing around the inside of my skull.

And that is enough to drive anybody absolutely insane.
