Advice For The Needy {Calvin/Fabian} Blitz

'Sir.'

It haunted him. Every morning, at the beach. Every afternoon, at the market. Every evening, at home with his well paid servants. 'Sir.' It was respectful, important, but not the same. Turns out, nothing ever would measure up to Mayor Fabian Perch.

So when he heard it in the streets, sometimes he tuned it out. He nearly did except the voice was so weathered, so sure. So old. Like his own. Fabian lifted a wrinkled brow and turned. He managed a smile. "It's Calvin - Tripe, right? Good to see you," he said, the genially distant manner of every politician. He opened his palm. "What can I help you with today?"

Ah, advice - something everyone wanted from him and which he was quite sure he was not at all qualified to give. Still,
he bobbed his head and listened to Calvin's pitch. Fabian took great comfort in the fact that the last election had been so hotly contested; the enthusiasm to do better ran deep in Four. If only that could be translated to more victories - or fewer losses.

"It's never too early to begin your campaign," he said and started walking away from the bustling district center. It was only a few blocks to the beach. "Have you given any thoughts to your platform? A slogan? Anything you're particularly passionate about?"
