There is nothing beautiful in District Three, she has just about decided. Some areas are more hideous than others — smog in the air just as thick as the clouds, factory chimneys reaching up like skyscrapers. She has ventured into one of the nicer, less polluted neighborhoods of District Three; she figured she should try to find somewhere to spend some time before heading off to District Four.
Her victory tour has been exhausting so far, and she is not even halfway down. It's going to be a long couple of weeks — but she doesn't really want to contemplate that.
Jacinta turns the corner and finds a cute little coffee shop with decorative signs and frosted pastries in the window. Since she has nothing better to do and a snack sounds good right about now, she pushes open the door into the shop. The bell rings as she walks into the coffee shop, and finds that it is almost completely empty, save for the cashier at the register. She is a rather pretty girl with long brown hair and dark eyes, like one of the girls Jacinta would have liked at her old private school.
"Are you still open?" Jacinta asks her.
