blood brothers [tom||train blitz]

I can't believe I got dragged into this. Wiley wrestled a knife out of my hand before we left the house.

I'm sitting in the back cart of the train, glass windows all around me, fingernails pressing roughly into my palms. There's food on the table that I haven't touched. Is this what she felt like? Is this what she saw?

Did she sit in the this seat?

I take a deep breath and bring my hands up to  my eyes. I don't know what I'm getting out of this. I don't know what Kennedy's getting out of this either, but he wanted to come, and Ma told me to go with him. Keep him safe, she said. So why do I feel like she meant it the other way around?

I glance out the window, and for the first time, I can see buildings breaking across the skyline. Almost there.
