Bella walked around the training center in awe of what it was. A stone cold prison that wreaked of fear and perspiration. She couldn’t believe it when she got here, but this was happening and there was only so much she could do before she was thrusted into the arena. She took a deep breath as she tried to remember the faces as she saw them. All of them looked like they either wanted to be here, or they didn’t want to be here. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but something told her that this group was going to be an interesting one. Some of them shared similarities to past tributes, which meant that some of them had to be related. Bella couldnt imagine being in that situation. Now that she had met Saffron Lowe, she could only imagine how she felt as she watched two of her sisters go into the games themselves. However they didn’t make it out alive, which was a scary though in itself. Bella knew that she would try her hardest to make it out, but she knew that she would have to fight through the other that were here with her, and she didn’t like her chances one bit.

There were killers here. There were people who knew more than Bella. She didn’t have much knowledge of anything, but the one thing that Bella did have was growing up fast. She learned things quickly just to accommodate people. She cared a lot about others and their wellbeing, and while that probably wouldn’t get you far in the games on the merit, it could get her far. If she could use her nurturing side to gain favor, maybe she could survive for a couple days before having a sword lodged deep within her skull. She hated thinking like this, but the reality was settling in, and she was going to have to come to terms with it faster than she wanted too.

There was a high chance that she wasn’t going to make it out, but she was going to try. That was all she could do.

Her sights were drawn to Caine, who was near the foresty part of the training center. As Bella walked near it, she could feel a slight chill to it, like the temperature here was drastically different from the rest of the center. He was perched on a log, taking a stick and kneeding it into the wood that below it.

He was trying to make a fire.

Bella took a big gulp and decided that this was the first thing that she needed to learn. Why? She needed to conquer her fear, because the chill in the air was a sign that something wicked was coming their way, and that meant that Bella had to be prepared for anything.

”Hey Caine.” Bella said in a sweet voice as she knelt down to join him in what he was doing. ”So, uh, making fires I see.” Bella gave a nervous laugh, still not sure how comfortable she was around fires. She had to admit, that was her biggest fear, but it was something that she was going to have to put on the back burner if she was going to do well in the arena. ”Do you mind if I watch?” She said hesitantly. She clutched the locket that she had around her neck, knowing what fire actually meant to her.

However, she needed to get over it. She needed to conquer her fear.

She needed to be invincible.

Or at least make it seem that way.

Everything glitters in the capitol. The walls, the beds, the pillows, the drinks, the people, and anything he could really think of. Glittering pieces that didn't feel like home to him. A request to an avox is all it took for him to get something more simple and down to earth than the wild looks that the capitol had gotten for their living spaces. Everything glittered int he place, even the training room, meant to be deadly in theory, had more safety than he realized.

The glittering of weapons catches his eyes as he holds his breath when moving past it as quickly as possible, praying to whoever was listening that some career wouldn't drag him to be the first one to be made an example of. Avoidance was hard when he stuck out like a sore thumb with his hat upon his head, only taking it off at the introduction that was made to them. Worry is in his skin, but he shields it behind a small smile that he plasters across his face. A safety blanket and a friendly look to attract attention if at possible. Caine Winchester was no Benstaloe with anger running across their tongues. He wasn't a Lowe with kindness in their heart, but skills up their sleeves.

Killers, victims, victors, trainers, and anything else that came to his mind could be seen. Teddy Ursa, the victor of District Six, currently moving to a corner for a moment. All he does is glance to the crowd as he can see smaller tributes moving outwards from others. Tributes stronger than he might be, moving somewhere else. Unnoticed is how he goes as he moves to the firemaking area. Forest surrounds him almost as a small comfort in a place where nature does not exist. Forest was not his preference, but he'd take what he can get for now. Eyeing the wood pile, he pulls some sticks and other supplies that he may need. No trainer coming over to ask him if he needed help.

The icy chill in the room is known as he moves to rubbing the stick and log together trying to make a flame ignite. Fire was an important tool, that glittered like the capitol did. Heat radiating from an area where a fire is already going. The trainer's design looking perfect compared to his mess. Hands grow tired of moving quicker and quicker, until a spark hits, but no flame comes. Give it to his district partner to come when he was struggling to even light a fire like Jed had done so easily when he couldn't.

"Hey Caine." Sweetness oozes from her voice like she wanted to help, but there's a twinge of something that is easily seen on her. "So, uh, making fires I see." The nervous laugh gives it away instantly as he feels himself mentally roll his eyes, not against her, but for her lack of realization. He drops it instantly. It's not his place to give her advice in the training center. "Do you mind if I watch?" Silence follows with an expected look as he holds a breath and continues to rub the stick against the log quickly, muscles tensing with every movement. The wood's softening in his grasp or maybe he was just growing weaker. He speaks quietly to her as she is next to him.

"I don't mind if ya do, Bella."

The sound of a spark emits, but flickers away for a second as he lets the words out carefully.

"Though, I'd reckon ya try to reign yourself in a bit, Bella. Don't show the others your fear."

Before she even asks, he speaks again with a small smile and tired hands as he drops the stick for a second, glancing back to her. His careful eye from watching animals coming in handy.

"Kinda my job on the ranch. To notice how the animals were feeling."
